Parmigiani Fleurier at Watches & Wonders 2025: Tonda PF GMT Rattrapante Verzasca
At Watches & Wonders 2025, Parmigiani Fleurier returns to its roots of simplicity and ingenuity. The brand introduces the latest iteration of the Tonda PF GMT Rattrapante, now featuring a lake-green dial that further refines its understated luxury.
Introducing the new Tonda PF GMT Rattrapante
The Tonda PF collection stands out among integrated-bracelet luxury watches by taking an entirely different approach. Rather than being bold or attention-grabbing, Parmigiani’s design is deliberately low-profile and refined. Yet, the level of craftsmanship makes it clear that this is a true luxury timepiece.
The GMT Rattrapante exemplifies this philosophy. While its design appears simple, it offers a thoughtful evolution from the standard time-only model. The watch features two stacked hour hands that function as one when not in use. When traveling, a pusher at 8 o’clock advances the hidden gold hour hand in one-hour increments to display a second time zone. Once back home, a button integrated into the crown instantly resets the second hour hand, bringing it back beneath the first – mimicking how a split-seconds chronograph functions.
This discreet GMT function maintains the clean look of a time-only watch while offering practical utility. It also pays homage to the classic dual-time complication introduced by Patek Philippe in the 1950s, but with the added advantage of quick resetting.
A serene green dial called “Verscanza”
With the GMT Rattrapante debuting in 2022, the key update this time is the dial color. Replacing the original dark blue, the new version features a lighter, serene green that evokes the look of a tranquil lake. This is why the brand has named the watch Verscanza, after a valley in Switzerland known for its beautiful lakes.
This lake-green dial complements the watch’s understated design, giving it a more natural and approachable character. The lighter hue also makes the grain d’orge (barleycorn) guilloché pattern more visible, allowing its fine details to be appreciated up close.
Micro-rotor
Powering the watch is the PF051, an in-house micro-rotor movement with a slim profile that keeps the case at just 9.7 mm thick, despite the added GMT function. The movement features a 22k gold rotor, also decorated with the grain d’orge guilloché, mirroring the dial’s pattern. It delivers a 48-hour power reserve, offering reliable performance over two days.
