Tudor at Watches and Wonders 2025: Pelagos Ultra And All New Black Bay’s, From 58 To The Pro

What’s big, bold, and red altogether?

Recently, Tudor has been having fun with vibrant additions to the Black Bay Chrono series, in flamingo blue colorways and a distinctive pink-dial variant, which has by now become a cult favorite especially among Inter Miami fans. And Tudor has continued to bring that energy to Watches and Wonders, where they have once again surprised us with a couple of bold choices. We’re talking dial colors (some loud, some subtle), mechanical upgrades, and a show of hand against the downsizing trend. The Tudor Black Bay 58 also sees thoughtful updates, reinforcing the brand’s push for movement certification—a clear sign of its dedication to top-tier precision and technical excellence across the collections.

Tudor Black Bay 58 goes burgundy

Now, unlike what you think, this burgundy outfit isn’t a cry for attention. The color actually draws inspiration from Tudor history in the form of a 1990s Submariner prototype (ref. 79190) with a striking burgundy dial and bezel that never made it to production. Today, this fire engine code of red finally sees the light of day on a tone-on-tone, bezel to dial, in a sunray-brushed finish.

Besides the aesthetic change, the Tudor Black Bay 58 has also got an upgrade in the technical department. Its self-winding Calibre MT5400-U is now METAS-certified, meaning that the watch has met an accuracy of 0/+5 seconds daily and is resistant to magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss.

Wearability gets a significant boost with the addition of Tudor’s innovative T-fit rapid adjustment system across all bracelet options. Whether you choose the new 5-link bracelet, traditional 3-link “rivet-style” bracelet, or form-fitted rubber strap, you’ll enjoy 8mm of tool-free fine adjustment.

I’ll admit that the red BB was initially jarring with its unexpected color choice, but the 39mm sweet-spot sizing remains nearly impossible to argue against.

Pelagos Ultra with a 1,000-meter water resistance

The Pelagos was originally designed for one thing only, and that’s to be underwater.  In 2012, the Pelagos emerged as Tudor’s most technically advanced dive watch. With its lightweight yet durable titanium case, helium escape valve, and 500-meter water resistance, it was built for serious saturation diving.

The Pelagos family has since expanded with models like the Pelagos FXD (designed in collaboration with the Marine Nationale) and the Pelagos 39, a more compact yet equally capable version for everyday wear. Today, we see a new member in the Ultra. And it’s Ultra to mean “ultra deep”, like, with a 1,000-meter water resistance.

To achieve this feat, Tudor scaled up the titanium case to 43mm and incorporated both grade 2 and grade 5 titanium, along with a compact helium escape valve essential for saturation diving scenarios. Legibility — critical when exploring the murky “twilight zone” between 200 and 1,000 meters — has been thoughtfully enhanced with a dual-color luminescence system. The oversized minute hand glows green while other elements glow blue, allowing divers to instantly differentiate elapsed time from current time in the darkest depths.

The bracelet system received equal attention, featuring a completely redesigned adjustable clasp with a luminous visual indicator — a first for the Pelagos line. An included rubber strap can be extended up to 110mm for use over thick diving suits … for, well, if you really go there.

Which brings us to say, regular owners will never get to test its full 1,000-meter capability, but trust Tudor to create a diving instrument that can withstand the most extreme conditions imaginable, because obviously they know what they’re doing.

The upsized Black Bay 68

Just when you thought watch sizes were getting smaller, Tudor has decided to go the opposite way. Meet the Black Bay 68, a new size offering in 43mm. Named after the year Tudor introduced its signature Snowflake hands, this new model features two dial color configurations — silver or Tudor Blue. Accompanying details include the lollipop seconds hand and redesigned flush crown. Perhaps most notably, Tudor has updated the bracelet with smooth side flanks instead of the vintage-inspired rivets found on other Black Bay models.

Case-wise, it houses the METAS-certified self-winding Manufacture Calibre MT5601-U, which guarantees precision within 0/+5 seconds daily, resistance to 15,000 gauss magnetic fields, and a 70-hour power reserve.

Black Bay Pro now in opaline

Tudor has done a fresh take on its Black Bay Pro, presenting a new model with a bright opaline dial that’s in contrast to its original black-dial counterpart from 2022. The refreshed model keeps all the essentials intact — the practical 39mm case size, fixed steel bezel, and the sophisticated MT5652 Manufacture Calibre with its built-in GMT function.

The distinctive yellow “Snowflake” GMT hand completes a full rotation every 24 hours, while the shorter local time hand can be adjusted forward or backward with the practical jumping hour function. My take on this is that it’s a great option if you’re a fan of the Rolex Explorer II. Durable steel watch with clean opaline dial save for a pop of color on the GMT hand. Can’t go wrong with that.

Available with the iconic rivet-style steel bracelet, black fabric strap with yellow accent band, or hybrid leather-rubber option.

Black Bay Chronograph marks 50 years of Tudor chronographs

It’s a golden milestone for Tudor’s latest chronograph model, the Black Bay Chrono, which gets a fresh update for the occasion.

The new 41mm steel chronograph is presented in a duet of matte black or opaline dials, each one with contrasting subdials that echo Tudor’s very first chronographs from 1970. Blink and you’ll miss the subtle touches, from the engineered case with its clever lower crystal cut to the historically-inspired chronograph pushers. The fixed steel bezel with black aluminum tachymeter scale completes the purposeful, sporty aesthetic, along with new bracelet options with the practical “T-Fit” adjustment system.
