Last Week In Watches: Blancpain Returns to 1968, Norqain Goes Titanium, Czapek Turns Aqua Blue and more

Blancpain’s compact Bathyscaphe anniversary edition leads a week spanning Minase’s first use of a Japanese movement, Norqain’s three-hand Skeleton in titanium, a black-and-white Mido diver, slimmer Glashütte Original flyback chronographs and Czapek’s sapphire-blue transparency.

Minase Mastercraft J3

Minase Mastercraft J3 in black, white and beige

The new Mastercraft J3 brings Minase’s hand-finished casework to a smaller three-hand watch with slim and elegant proportions. Its 37mm stainless-steel case measures 9.9mm thick, and combines circular brushed upper surfaces with mirror-polished details produced using the Sallaz technique. The grained dial features a raised outer track, paired with faceted markers and hands with blue luminous material. The Mastercraft J3 is available in three neutral dial executions: white, beige and black. Powering the watch is the automatic Miyota caliber 90S5 offering 42 hours of power reserve – the first Minase powered by a Japanese movement. The watch is supplied with either calfskin, rubber, or a tapered steel bracelet, all attached through the brand’s one-touch release system.

Glashütte Original Senator Chronograph and Senator Chronograph Navigator

Glashütte Original Senator Chronograph

Glashütte Original introduces two new Senator Chronograph models, recast in a slimmer 41mm stainless steel format. The first is the classical Senator Chronograph featuring an embossed silver dial with blue-coated solid-gold Roman numerals and blued hands. On the other hand, the Navigator model draws inspiration from 1940s pilot’s watches, using a matt black dial with sword hands,  luminous Arabic numerals and white chronograph indications. Both watches adopt a cleaner two-counter arrangement and retain the Panorama Date at 6 o’clock. The Senator Chronograph and Senator Chronograph Navigator are powered by the automatic caliber 37-24, an integrated column-wheel flyback chronograph with 70 hours of power reserve. Alligator, synthetic and steel bracelet options are available and use a tool-free changing system.
