Over the past two years, there has been no doubt about the popularity of Patek Philippe’s Nautilus collection. Even as the prices have risen, the number of people snapping up the products has always increased. This year, the first grand complication in the Nautilus collection, the ref. 5740/1G Nautilus Perpetual Calendar, also lives up to expectations, with the ultra-thin self-winding Calibre 240 Q movement developed by Patek Philippe. Presenting a white gold case and endowed with a blue dial, which is the same as that of the limited edition launched to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Nautilus, this watch  has a diameter of 40mm — like the popular Nautilus ref. 5711; however, it is only 8.42mm thick, 0.1mm thicker than the 8.43mm of the Nautilus Ref. 5711, which simply displays the time and date.
Regarded as one of the most famous and popular sports collections by Patek Philippe, the Nautilus has stood the test of time in terms of design and comfort, and it is ranked highly in the minds of many fans — even more now that the new model boasts a perpetual calendar function. Despite the white gold material, the ultra-thin case dramatically buffers the sense of heaviness and fits comfortably under your cuff. A perfect companion no matter the occasion — formal or casual — what you need only concern yourself with is how best to turn down a steady stream of requests from others to try it on.
