Introducing the Monaco 1989–1999 Limited Edition

TAG Heuer has introduced number three of five limited editions, created to mark the 50th anniversary of their iconic Monaco chronograph.

Launched in New York, just ahead of the 2019 New York City E-Prix (13-14 July 2019), the present variation takes inspiration from the third decade of the watch’s existence: the 90s.

This time round the special Monaco comes with a grey, grainy textured dial with blue scale markings on the primary and subsidiary dials. Owing to the fact that the watch is powered by the modern-day version of the 4Hz, Calibre 11, you have a central chronograph seconds hand with a 30-minute totalizer at 9 o’clock; running seconds at 3 o’clock and lastly the date window at 6 o’clock.

The case remains, the 39mm square in steel with the crown placed at 9 o’clock and the chronograph pushers at your typical 2 and 4 o’clock.

The Monaco 1989–1999 Limited Edition will be issued in a run of just 169 pieces. So with the third of five limited editions done and delivered, we’re not two more watches away from capping off the Monaco’s 50th birthday celebrations.
