Introducing the Nomos Red Dot — Exclusively for The Hour Glass & Watches Of Switzerland
The Nomos Zürich Weltzeit has long been a phenomenal option for anyone looking to purchase a handsome world time watch. And, an even better option for those looking to splurge more on their travels than on their world time wristwatch.
For those over in Singapore — who happen to be prone to a lot of travel, given all the beautiful cities in Southeast Asia, just a stone’s throw away from the Little Red Dot — if you wanted to purchase one of Nomos’ sensibly priced pieces, it was the watchmaker’s international e-retail website that was your only option, until recently.
We all know how it is. Sometimes you simply have to have the watch on your wrist before you can decide on pulling the trigger.
It was thanks to local fairy-god-retailer, The Hour Glass that as of 2015 people wanting to try a Nomos in the flesh were able to do so at several of their own outlets and at most of their sister retailer, Watches of Switzerland’s outlets.
Now in celebrating the two years of this partnership, Nomos has created a special edition of their much-loved Zürich Weltzeit exclusively for The Hour Glass and Watches of Switzerland called, the Nomos Red Dot.
What you have is essentially the same great watch, with just two deviations: Firstly, the city disc, which bears the names of cities traditionally used to indicate the 24 GMT time zones, now has Singapore written in red for the GMT +8 time zone. This time zone is typically otherwise indicated with Hong Kong on the disc.
Second, the 24-hour disc at 3 o’clock, which is used to keep time back at home, now has a little red dot next to it to serve as an apt reminder of home for any denizen of the Little Red Dot, while on their travels. Originally, the Zürich Weltzeit has the symbol for home in this position.
This special watch will be produced in a limited run of just 50 pieces, with 35 in the white dial variation and the remaining 15 in the salmon dial variation.
