Rolex
Rolex is one of the most recognized and well-known luxury brands on the planet. Originally founded as Wilsdorf and Davis by Hans Wilsdorf and Alfred Davis in London in 1905, the company registered Rolex as the brand name of its watches in 1908. Since 1960, the company has been owned by the Hans Wilsdorf Foundation, a private trust. It is a brand with a storied history and is in the enviable position of having a very strong position in both sales of modern and vintage watches. The heritage of the brand’s sports watches is steeped in sporting, military and scientific pursuits and excellence. Rolex dress watches have been worn by presidents and world leaders for generations. The Oyster case was one of the most important designs and innovations of the 20th century and it is still as relevant today as it was in the 1920s.
