Sinn
Sinn, named for founder Helmut Sinn, was born in 1961 and made watches with a purpose. The Frankfurt-based brand specializes in tool watches, especially for pilots, and it has a strong history of pilot’s chronographs and divers. In 1985, a Sinn 140 S was worn by German astronaut Reinhard Furrer on the Spacelab D1 mission, the first of several Sinns to escape Earth’s orbit. The no-nonsense brand is well regarded for its functional technologies, like hardened tegimented steel cases, oil- filled cases and temperature resistance, which allows for normal accuracy between -45°C and 80°C. Today Sinn continues its tradition for toughness while managing to inject some color into its designs.
