The Norqain Neverest Glacier collection gets two new models

Norqain’s Neverest Glacier GMT Grey & Gold and the Neverest Glacier Black & Gold models feature unique golden glacier dials that capture the beauty and mystery of the Himalayan mountains. With their unique dials, precision movements, and philanthropic partnership, these watches capture the essence of Norqain’s commitment to craftsmanship and making a positive impact.

Norqain is a family-owned, independent Swiss watch company founded in 2018, and based in the town of Nidau (Biel/Bienne). The brand’s core values are reflected in its three collections —Adventure, Freedom and Independence. Neverest Glacier watches are part of the Adventure collection.

The Inspiration Behind the Latest Neverest Glacier Watches

The Neverest Glacier watches draw their inspiration from the treacherous climb to Mount Everest’s summit. The golden fractures on the dial represent the jagged crevasses of Khumbu Icefall, the most dangerous stage of the ascent. This design element not only adds a touch of uniqueness but also pays homage to the relentless spirit of adventure and the indomitable human spirit.

The Neverest Glacier GMT Grey & Gold: A Timepiece for Global Explorers

One of the standout models in the Neverest Glacier collection is the GMT Grey & Gold version. With its anthracite grey dial and gold-filled fractures, this 41mm timepiece exudes elegance and sophistication. The ceramic bidirectional-rotating bezel, featuring a knurled edge for optimal handling, adds to its allure. Powered by NN20/2 automatic movement, this watch combines precision timekeeping with the practicality of a GMT function, allowing the wearer to keep track of two time zones simultaneously. The NN20/2 movement has a jumping hour hand that is adjusted forward or backward to set the local time and date. The date can also be set forward or backward, so there is no need to advance the calendar an entire month forward to correct it.

Norquai’s Partnership with Kenissi: A Testament to Swiss Watchmaking Excellence

Both the Neverest Glacier GMT Grey & Gold and the Neverest Glacier Black & Gold models are equipped with automatic movements that are the result of a collaboration between Norqain and movement manufacturer Kenissi. The Caliber NN20/2 in the GMT model features a jumping hour function and a COSC certification, ensuring exceptional accuracy. On the other hand, the Caliber NN20/1 in the three-hand model boasts a 70-hour power reserve and a personalized bridge, showcasing Norqain’s commitment to quality and precision.

Philanthropy and the Butterfly Help Project

Norqain’s partnership with the Butterfly Help Project is at the heart of the Neverest Glacier collection’s mission. The Butterfly Help Project is a non-profit organization based in Nepal, founded by Andrea Sherpa-Zimmermann and Norbu Sherpa of Wild Yak Expeditions. The organization supports the education of children in Nepal, particularly the daughters and sons of sherpas who have lost their lives while guiding climbers in the Himalayan mountains. Norqain’s donations, equivalent to 10% of the sales from the Neverest watches, have enabled the Butterfly Help Project to provide quality education to 50 children and build a hostel that ensures their safety and access to education.

In May 2023, a small team from Norqain traveled to Nepal to witness firsthand the impact of their partnership with the Butterfly Help Project. The team visited the school and hostel built by the organization in a remote village in the southern part of Nepal. The children supported by the project are often orphans, and their parents were sherpas who guided climbers through the treacherous mountains. The donations from Norqain have given these children a fresh start, providing them with quality education and a safe place to stay. Plans are already underway to build a second hostel to accommodate more children in need.
