The chimes of celebration rang out for all to hear on a crisp autumn morning in New York City – well, at least those who found themselves at A Lange & Söhne’s brand new flagship boutique on the corner Madison Avenue and 63rd St. You see, not only was CEO Wilhem Schmid on site with the US team to cut the ribbon at the magnificent new Upper East Side retail space, but also to annouce the arrival of a brand new Zeitwerk Minute Repeater, presented in Lange’s proprietary Honeygold.
The boutique is the first in a series of new flagships for A. Lange & Söhne, which feature a distinct and modern design which both exudes warmth and elegance, while simultatneously reflecting the exacting and innovative technical prowess of the Glashütte based brand. Mr. Schmid toasted to the future, while casting a sentimental, and even wistful gaze back upon the previous home of Lange in NYC, which opened back in 2014, reminiscing on how far the brand had come over the past decade. While much has changed for Lange in the last few years in particular, with the demand skyrocketing, secondary prices reaching record highs, and fewer points of sale globally, one couldn’t help but feel the same motivation and excitement that emanated from the team as the Zeitwerk Minute Repeater was unveiled.
Later that evening, the celebration continued as collectors, journalists, and friends of the brand were welcomed to an elegant and reserved cocktail party, hosted at the fabulous Radio Park within Rockefeller Plaza. A selection of some of Lange’s finest and rarest timepieces were on display for attendies to admire, as they sipped on cocktails and champagne and enjoyed the views of Midtown Manhattan from the garden terrace.
