Since its establishment in 1845, Glashütte Original has carried on a watchmaking tradition embodied 175 years later by the PanoLunarTourbillon, a true work of art with sophisticated engravings. The timepieces from the Pano collection by Glashütte Original are striking creations that stand out due to the design of their dial, in which decorated counters are framed by the PanoLunarTourbillon platinum case.

The hour-and-minute subdial and the flying tourbillon with small seconds are on the left of the dial, the right side features a moon-phase display set against a blue night sky, which is characteristic of the Glashütte Original Panorama Date. The skeleton hour and minute hands, the indexes, and the blued steel small second-hand feature blue accents typical of watches from Glashütte.
All designs on the front of the dial get engraved at Glashütte Original’s factory in Pforzheim. The engravers work freehand, without a pattern, using a chisel to carve the design into the solid gold dial blanks. This process comprises 27 steps and takes a whole day to complete.
The flying tourbillon oscillates on the left side of the dial. This complication improves the watch’s precision: thanks to this “whirlwind,” where the entire oscillation and escapement system revolve on its axis once per minute. The PanoLunarTourbillon runs on an automatic movement – caliber 93-12. The watch features a 48-hour power reserve and a fully built-in moon-phase mechanism. The sapphire crystal of the case back reveals the satin-brushed and sunray finishes, the blued screws, and the polished and beveled edges of the movement.

As a crowning touch, the skeletonized off-center rotor gets fitted with a 21K gold oscillating mass. A decorative screw-mounted stainless-steel plate shows the words “Flying Tourbillon” engraved and gilded in gold. The new watch features a Louisiana alligator leather strap in blue with a platinum deployment clasp.
