Introducing the Roger Dubuis Excalibur Spider 39mm Collection
For the first time, this vision has been realised in a smaller size of 39mm. This proves that excess does not equal excessive size; as the brand’s RD510SQ calibre, with a single flying tourbillon and the distinctive star-shaped bridge, all covered by the Poinçon de Genéve demonstrates. In fact, Roger Dubuis has unleashed three new models as part of their Pirelli partnership on the world, perfect for men or women looking to join the Roger Dubuis tribe.
Roger Dubuis Excalibur Spider Pirelli – RDDBEX0817
Roger Dubuis’ partnership with Pirelli roars to life in this aggressively sporty vision of high-end watchmaking. The 39mm titanium case is clad in black DLC and rubber inlays, with red rubber overmold on the bold winding crown. For all that it’s a little smaller at 39mm across and 13.3mm tall, the bold design of the case, with pronounced bezel notches and open lugs is undiminished. The skeleton dial stands out with its automotive-inspired honeycomb texture, red flange and other highlights. The Pirelli rubber meets the road on the strap which is inlaid with rubber from a winning tire and features the Pirelli Cinturato pattern on the inside. The strap is quickly interchangeable, which is a win. This edition is a boutique exclusive, limited to 28 pieces.

Sharing the same codes as its red rubber twin, this Pirelli piece offers a stealthier take, swapping bold red and black for a more monochrome palette. The RD510SQ calibre is just as impressive though, with a circular-grained main plate with NAC coating, and hexagonal grill between the bridges and the main plate. The tourbillon beats at 3 Hz, and the calibre has a total of 179 components. The strap also has a more technical appearance, inlaid with Rubber Tech. This edition is limited to 88 pieces.
Roger Dubuis Excalibur Spider Pirelli – RDDBEX0816
The third execution of the Excalibur Spider Pirelli is the most explicitly feminine offering, though the 39mm case is a good fit for any wrist, to be honest. While the other versions have relied on the inherent drama in the designs to shine, this offering takes a more literal approach with its pink gold case. The precious metal is paired with white lacquer marking on the bezel, ceramic and diamonds on the inner flange and rubber and leather on the strap. It’s a powerful and elegant combination, limited to 88 pieces.
