Introducing Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda GT and Tondagraph GT in celebration of Oliver Smith Jeweler’s 40th Anniversary
The Low-Down
“Oliver Smith’s reputation as a premier retailer of luxury watches aligns with the Parmigiani Fleurier philosophy of rich craftsmanship. The two limited editions we created maintain the versatile and refined nature of the Tonda GT collection, while reflecting his creativity in stylistic choices.”
Gustavo Calzadilla, Brand Director, Parmigiani Fleurier Americas
Scottsdale Arizona is home to Oliver Smith Jeweler, a high-end watch and jewelry business established in 1981. Smith has been creating exceptional jewelry from the historic Tom Thumb building which houses both his Oliver Smith Aspen Boutique and the Panerai Aspen Boutique ever since.
“I really wanted to partner with Michel Parmigiani because of his creative genius. His skill as a restorer of antique timepieces was clear at a young age, and he’s come about his success as a watchmaker extremely organically. We have grown similarly over the past 40 years.”

Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda GT and Tondagraph GT
The Tonda GT, and the more complex Tondagraph GT are double signed and showcase both brand logos on either side of the dial. Both are finished with a wonderful ‘clou triangulaire’ guilloché, clearly displaying Parmigiani Fleurier’s artistic expertise. Michel Parmigiani used the Golden Ratio and the Fibonacci Sequence to ensure the proportions are as perfect as nature itself.
The dials feature skeletonized Delta-shaped hands with white luminescent coating, and the elegant cases, inspired by the Tonda Chronor, reveal luxurious new teardrop-shaped lugs and fluted bezels. In total there are just 15 Tonda GT pieces and only five Tondagraph GT models on offer.
The Tonda GT runs on the PF044 automated movement with 45 hours power reserve and a double track running seconds subdial at 6 o’ clock, while the Tondagraph GT features the PF043 automatic movement also with 45 hours power reserve and combines an annual calendar with a chronograph in a tricompax arrangement. Both have double date windows at 12 o’ clock.
IMHO
Oliver Smith’s decision to call on Michel Pamigiani for a 40th anniversary celebration duo of limited edition watches makes perfect sense, because not only is Michel Parmigiani extremely detail oriented, the brand is also perfectly positioned to cater to commissions. With five factories in total it has dedicated capacity for outside clients that include many of the top brands in Swiss watchmaking.
The Tonda GT and the Tondagraph GT were introduced last year. The gracefully cascading links of the integrated bracelet were designed with the help of Dino Modolo, who has previously worked with the likes of Bedat & Co. and Corum.
