Introducing Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Small Seconds in Green
The Low-Down
While I have always been smitten by the Reverso and its swivelling case, there was this gorgeous burgundy iteration introduced a couple of years ago that got me totally head over heels for the Tribute Small Seconds. What’s so enticing about a coloured dial, one may argue. Well, it wasn’t just the rich-red sunray-brushed dial that impressed me but this whole dynamism it brought about with the polished steel case, the facetted hour markers, dauphine-style hands and the small seconds counter at 6 o’clock. To top it all, the watch was offered on a matching Casa Fagliano strap, which made the piece simply irresistible!
IMHO
In tune with the signature design elements of the Reverso Tribute, the new model has the hours marked by applied indexes rather than numerals, neat dauphine hands adding a visual depth to the lacquered surface and the customary sunray pattern inside the watch’s cradle.
Besides its aesthetic appeal, the watch is suitably endowed with the in-house manually-wound Calibre 822/2. The Tribute Small Seconds has a slim 8.5mm case that carries this specially designed rectangular shaped movement, which delivers a power reserve of 42 hours. It beats at 21,600 vph and provides indications for the hours, the minutes, and the sub-seconds.
