LVMH has just announced the appointment of Frédéric Arnault as CEO of TAG Heuer from 1 July onwards. At which time he will vacate his present role as the brand’s strategy and digital director.
Frédéric Arnault first joined TAG Heuer in 2017 after stints at Facebook and McKinsey. Initially his responsibilities were to manager the brand’s ongoing conneted watch development efforts. In late 2018, he was then tasked to lead the digital transformation of the brand as Chief Strategy and Digital Officer, working alongside present and outgoing CEO, Stéphane Bianchi.
“It fills me with pride to see Frédéric succeed me at the helm of TAG Heuer after the key role he has played in its strategic repositioning. He has carved out a place for digital at the heart of the company’s aspirations, restored real momentum to the collections, all the while skillfully managing the development and launch of the hugely successful third Connected watch generation,” says Mr Bianchi.
“Frédéric is passionate about watchmaking, and I am convinced that he and his management team are best placed to lead this wonderful Maison to the heights of achievement it deserves.”
At the same time, Mr Bianchi has been appointed the role of CEO of the Watches and Jewelry Division from 1 July onwards. As such he will oversee jewelry brands Chaumet and FRED, on top his present responsibilities as the President of LVMH’s Watch Division overseeing TAG Heuer, Hublot and Zenith.
Mr Bianchi started with TAG Heuer and at the Watch Division level in 2018 after several years with the Yves Rocher Group. “Since his arrival at LVMH, Stéphane has given the Watchmaking Division a new lease of life strengthening the fundamental principles of each of the brands and exploring promising new avenues,” says Bernard Arnault, Chairman and Chief Executive officer of LVMH.
He continues, “I am certain that he will continue this great work and that he will apply all of his talents and his determination to the development of the Maisons Chaumet and FRED. Frédéric’s appointment comes as an affirmation of his achievements at TA G Heuer, where he succeeded in combining innovation, heritage and savoir-faire within this historic brand. These two appointments demonstrate our full confidence in the growth potential of these brands. I wish them both every success going forward.”
