Tudor
Tudor’s origins date back to 1926, when “The Tudor” was first registered on behalf of the founder of Rolex, Hans Wilsdorf. He then went on to create the Montres Tudor S.A. company in 1946 to offer watches with the quality and dependability of a Rolex, but at a more accessible price point. The brand worked in partnership with the French Navy in the development of its Submariners, starting in the mid-1950s. In 1970, Tudor launched its iconic Oysterdate or “Homeplate” chronograph and was the first of the Wilsdorf brands to offer an automatic chronograph in 1976. Since 2015, Tudor has been producing its own manufacture movements for its hugely successful lines including the Black Bay and Pelagos.
