Baltic
Founded in 2017 by Etienne Malec, Baltic has, in so many ways, democratized watches by making incredibly cool timepieces that are accessible to all. Malec’s early life was marred by the passing of his father, yet it was the inheriting of his father’s watches that sparked his interest in horology and led to him becoming passionate about vintage watches.
He quickly realized that these watches had their limitations for everyday life and, when his search for a modern, vintage inspired watch came up empty handed, he decided that he would make his own.
Through Baltic, named for the sea near Northern Poland, from which his father hailed, Malec seeks to keep alive his father’s legacy, making stunning watches that combine everyday functionality with a distinctive vintage flair.
