Worn & Wound Debuts Windup Watch Shop
“Our previous shop sold primarily accessories that we made ourselves here in New York and the US,” says Blake Malin, Co-Founder and Director of Business Development. “The Windup Shop is a new venture for us. We will have curated timepieces on the site, as well as leather and nylon watch straps, carrying cases and accessories.”
The majority of the brands that will be on the shop – brands like Auteur, Autodromo, Bravur, Brew, Dan Henry, Lundis Bleus, Martenero, Vero and Vortic — have limited marketing dollars, or none at all, so a partnership with a site like Worn & Wound makes sense.
“We give the personal touch,” Malin continues. “We are trying to make this both online and in person. Many of the brands don’t have retail partners in the US, so we are going to do our best to bring them in front of people, on the web and in person.”
“Going back to our earliest Worn & Wound product designs, manufacturing has always been of the utmost importance to us,” says co-founder Zach Weiss. “Each of these brands represent a level of craftsmanship, quality, and design that speaks to our own sensibilities and high expectations, whether they are young brands run by one or two people, or famous houses with over one hundred years of experience.”
In addition to being sold on the Windup Watch Shop, the brands on the shop will be featured at upcoming Windup Watch Fairs (in New York City, Nov. 2-4, and San Francisco last year) and at the American Field event series in Boston (Sept. 29-30), Brooklyn (Nov. 17-18), and Washington D.C. (Dec. 15-16).
