Unique White Gold Rolex Daytona Ref. 6265, the Unicorn, Sold for USD5.9mil

The one of a kind, white gold Rolex Daytona 6265, formerly owned by Rolex scholar and collector John Goldberger, sells for USD5.9mil (with buyer’s premium) at the Phillips Watches Daytona Ultimatum sale, becoming the most expensive Daytona that isn’t Paul Newman’s “Paul Newman Daytona”, to be sold at a public auction.

The next most expensive would be the Rolex ref. 6263 screw-pusher “Lemon” dial Paul Newman Daytona in yellow gold sold for CHF3,722,000 at Phillips’ 2017 spring sale.

The most expensive, though, of course, is still “Paul Newman’s Paul Newman” that sold last October at Phillips’ inaugural New York sale, for USD17,752,500.
