The Bovet Family: Pascal Raffy on Craft, Integrity and the Human Hand
Wei Koh sits down with Pascal Raffy, Owner and CEO of Bovet, for a thoughtful conversation on what it means to build a truly integrated high watchmaking manufacture. Filmed during a visit to Bovet’s manufacture, the discussion traces the decisive year of 2006, when Raffy’s vision for the maison expanded through Château de Môtiers and the manufacture in Tramelan. What began as a pursuit of independence became something larger: a house built around artisans, mutual respect, shared standards and what Raffy describes as “positive pressure.” The conversation explores Bovet’s in-house capabilities, from movement components and cases to hairsprings, regulating organs, decorative arts, hand engraving, pad printing and assembly. It also looks at why the human hand remains central to the maison’s definition of luxury. Along the way, Wei and Pascal discuss watches including the Virtuoso XI, Récital 28 Prowess 1 and Récital 30, and how BOVET’s recent creations reflect both technical ambition and the collective work of the people behind them.
