TAG Heuer announced its partnership with the new film The Gray Man, starring Ryan Gosling and directed by Joe and Anthony Russo. Since 2021, Gosling has been an ambassador and friend of TAG Heuer, so the brand’s timepieces — particularly the three-hand Carrera — will also star in the new action movie, which Netflix is releasing on July 22.

Today, Canadian-born Gosling is one of the industry’s most versatile actors, beloved by audiences and recognized by critics and the box office alike. His remarkable track record includes blockbuster films such as Blue Valentine, The Nice Guys, Blade Runner 2049, First Man, Drive, Half Nelson and La La Land. The last two earned him Academy Award nominations for Best Actor, in 2007 and 2017 respectively.

In The Gray Man, Gosling plays the assassin Sierra Six, a tenacious CIA operative who assertively and forcefully manifests TAG Heuer’s slogan “Don’t crack under pressure”. The character’s discreet and elegant actions are accompanied by extreme dedication to complete his mission under extreme conditions.

Just link in real life, Gosling’s character Sierra Six is appropriately attired with a TAG Heuer Carrera three-hand watch with a silver dial on his wrist. The watch, created by Jack Heuer in 1963 as the most legible chronograph for competition, is already an unmistakable part of Gosling’s look — he is usually seen wearing it. Ryan Gosling isn’t the only star though, the formidable cast of The Gray Man is completed by Chris Evans, Regé-Jean Page, Ana de Armas, Alfre Woodard and Billy Bob Thornton, among others. Undoubtedly, this project headed by the Russo brothers, creators of some of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s biggest hits, has the potential to become a new reference (and maybe even a new franchise) of high-octane action movies. It certainly looks to feature the fun, creativity and lighthearted eagerness to entertain that Netflix excels at.
