Laureato Perpetual Calendar
In an ongoing effort to keep the Laureato collection in a steady state of growth, Girard-Perregaux has announced an all-new Laureato Perpetual Calendar as part of their pre-SIHH 2019 drive.
Keeping to the 42mm form factor, the watch has been unveiled in stainless steel with the familiar hobnail dial in blue. However, owing to the fact that this is a perpetual calendar, Girard-Perregaux has had to incorporate subdials and apertures to accommodate the necessary indications.
Starting with a date subdial at 2 o’clock, the month indicator at 5 o’clock with the months listed in an aperture just above. We also find a small subdial here that serves as the leap year indicator. Lastly, at 9 o’clock we have the days of the week in yet another subdial.
The Cat’s Eye
Part two of Girard-Perregaux’s announcement for pre-SIHH centers around the Cat’s Eye, in three different executions with aventurine dials serving as a common denominator.
We start off with the Cat’s Eye Majestic in a 40 x 34.7mm pink gold case with 60 brilliant-cut diamonds set on the bezel. Moving into the aventurine, we find another 24 brilliant-cut diamonds that make up the hour markers. This time-only piece is powered by the brand’s self-winding caliber GP03300-0121 with a minimum of 46 hours of power reserve.
