The Low Down

Marking a luxury event with a luxury timepiece, Ulysse Nardin is releasing two new models to celebrate the return of the Monaco Yacht Show and the company’s 175th anniversary.

The two models are bold additions to Ulysse Nardin’s two signature nautical watch collections, Diver and Marine Mega Yacht. Both watches are inspired by the ocean and enhanced with its colors.

The Diver Chronograph 44mm, Monaco Yacht Show builds on the DIVER collection’s signature essence of exploration. The watch has a sapphire caseback and is driven by the Manufacturer UN-150 automatic movement and 48-hour power reserve. The watch has hints of red: from the bezel joint and the second hand, to the hands on the small counters and the date. The case, bezel, and the UN element are made of titanium, and the bezel is coated with rubber.

The appearance comes together with striking blues and whites to evoke the complete essence of the sea. Also, the ‘MONACO YACHT SHOW” signature is featured under the Ulysse Nardin logo. Tested in extreme conditions and utilizing the company’s best ergonomic design, the watch is both comfortable and reliable with all the features of a diver’s watch. The strap can be rubber, metal, or fabric with a Velcro fastener. The limited edition is available in only 100 pieces.

The special Marine Mega Yacht in rose gold is built in the same spirit as a luxury mega yacht. It’s striking rose gold coloring is emphasized even more by the powerful blacks on the strap and dial. The watch is regulated by a flying tourbillon equipped with a cage modeled on a latest-generation ship’s propeller. On its 3D “grand feu” enamel dial, the watch shows the time, and a precise representation of the Moon, a sophisticated tide indicator, and an anchor raised by a chain attached to a windlass indicating the power reserve. The watch is not only visually stunning, but it also provides the owner the opportunity to follow the maneuvers made by the crew of their yacht. This watch is available in 30 pieces.

IMHO

Both pieces have distinct looks and are welcome additions to their respective lines. The comfort and style of the Diver Monaco Yacht Show make it a practical and high-performance watch, but the intricacies and design of the Marine Mega Yacht steal the show. The watch is beautiful from every angle and is both a work of art and a powerful instrument. In the end, both watches seem like the perfect way to commemorate the return of the Monaco Yacht Show and a fitting tribute to Ulysse Nardin’s 175 years of watchmaking.
