Introducing the Santos de Cartier ADLC for 2020

Share

The Santos de Cartier is a long-standing success in Cartier’s portfolio. In fact, it could well be considered to be one of the definitive sports chic models in watchmaking, and the only model not touched by Gérald Genta, the patron saint of sports chic watches in the 20th century.

The Santos de Cartier first emerged from the brand in the 1970s and gained massive popularity in the ’80s. It has been a perennial product within Cartier’s portfolio until 2016 when it was paused, and revived in 2018 with a rich range of products. This year, it adds 2 new references in monochromatic tones, giving it that all-black treatment that has become an essential in any collection.

The two variants are sized in the LM size, the large model and bear ADLC treatment on the bezel, with one version in full ADLC (case and bezel) and the other with just the bezel coated in black. The all-black edition comes with a black dial, luminous hands and Roman hour markers, with a matching integrated rubber strap or leather strap option available.

The half-black edition comes with a steel bracelet, with an interchangeable rubber strap. The dial is gray with luminous hands and markers as well. Both models are powered by the Cartier 1847MC caliber, with a 100-meter water resistance. The half-ADLC coated model is priced at CHF 7,400, and only CHF 200 less than the full ADLC edition.

The Santos de Cartier ADLC is in addition to all the other collections Cartier is presenting this year. Check them out here.
