Introducing the Oris Divers Sixty Five ‘Glow’

The Low Down

With the Oris Divers Sixty Five ‘Glow’ and its evergreen design, Oris attempts to mix heritage and modernity. In this new model, Oris maintains their familiar mechanics, still utilizing a unidirectional rotating bezel, a screw-in security crown, and Swiss Made automatic mechanical movement. Above all this, they also maintain their distinctive model and reliable product that can be traced back over 50 years to their first diver’s watch created in 1965.

Meanwhile, the watch carries new innovations. The grey gradient dial stands stark against the high-contrast turquoise lume applied to the watch’s hands, hour markers, and triangle dot at 12 o’clock. In low light conditions, underwater or elsewhere, this combination glows a bright turquoise green. In daylight this combination gives clarity and sharpness to the dial, upgrading the familiar look.

The challenge to create a dive watch that is striking, functional and original is one of the hardest all watchmakers face. With this Divers Sixty Five ‘Glow,’ Oris seems to rise to the challenge. The look itself is both striking and customizable. The aforementioned turquoise lume washes the whole watch in a stylish tone that recalls the sea and marries form to function. Similarly, the watch has a slim case and domed sapphire which match the familiar to the comfortable. Finally it comes on a black leather strap or a stainless steel bracelet with a folding clasp. Both options create a complete look, but the choice allows the wearer to decide how to complete the ensemble to their own taste.

IMHO

Oris takes a new step here in a style they have long worked with. The turquoise lume and its iconic glow set this watch apart amongst their collection. When you add in the option between band or bracelet, the Oris Divers Sixty Five ‘Glow’ becomes a stylish addition to almost anyone’s collection. Personally, I prefer the black leather band as it seems to fit the watches’ understated and functional style, creating a product that can be worn anywhere and be asked to do almost anything.

Combining all of this with Oris’ familiar mechanics, the Divers Sixty Five ‘Glow’ becomes an ideal product. If you are in the market for a dive watch, and even if you are not, this watch might be the one for you.
