Introducing the H. Moser & Cie Endeavour Perpetual Moon Concept Aventurine

You will perhaps recall around this time last year, H. Moser & Cie brought us perhaps the best use of Vantablack we’ve ever seen.

The blackest black, which isn’t even a pigment but rather, a material composed of meshed, hollow carbon nanotubes, was used to coat the dial of the Endeavour Perpetual Moon Concept, thus amplifying the effect of the large moon phase indicator at 6 o’clock. The Concept dial, stripped away of both indices and logo, further allowed for the complete expression of the moon. The effect was nothing short of mesmerising.

Well, this year it’s not Vantablack. Finding new ways to bring out the beauty of the moon, H. Moser & Cie has now turned to aventurine, using the shimmering quartz stone dial to depict the splendid night sky to our wrist.

The effect is highly poetic. Maybe even more so than the Vantablack dial, while cool as it may be, is too much of a black hole rather than the night sky.

The Endeavour Perpetual Moon Concept Aventurine is available in two models, one in 5N red gold and another in steel. Alligator leather straps complete the piece, with a black strap for the red gold model and a midnight blue for the steel version.

Apart from the new dial, the Endeavour Perpetual Moon Concept is the same model we have now come to know and love. It is one of the most precise moon phases available today, with just a day’s deviation every 1,027 years. Powered by the HMC 801 hand-wound Manufacture calibre, the movement is equipped with an interchangeable Moser escapement that gives the watch a power reserve of seven days.

The moon phase display is also a readily adjustable via a push-button located on the case flank. A small central arrow-shaped hand acts as a 24-hour display. Each model is released in a limited edition of 50 pieces only.
