Introducing the H. Moser & Cie. Dual Time Heritage Model

Low-Down

Having featured the their dual time complication within the Venturer and Endeavour collections, H. Moser & Cie is now introducing the complication to their Heritage collection. Enter the H. Moser & Cie. Dual Time Heritage Model.

Rendered in a 42mm stainless steel case, the watch has been given a burgundy dial with Moser’s signature fume and sunburst treatment, giving the face of the watch a great sense of depth. The fairly large case, of course, makes for an expansive dial that make the watch feel like it would be greatly legible. Staring with the chemin de fer on the outter edge of the dial, we then have large stylised Arabic numerals for the hours that are paired with small minutes/seconds numerals in increments of five. The numerals are all treated with Globolight® for visibility in the dark.

The H. Moser & Cie. Dual Time Heritage Model features Globolight® numerals and extensively lumed hands

The sword shaped hands are thereafter filled with Super-LumiNova®. These are meant for local time indication, while a GMT-type skeleton hour hand is provided on the dial to indicate home time. The dual time hand, of course, can be tucked away under the solid lumed hand when not in use.

Large central running seconds hand aside, the only other element on the dial is the date window at 6 o’clock. Which for sure is going to get its fair share of grief, but let’s not forget that on a dual time watch, the date indication is serves an intentional function.

The movement used within the watch is a new one, the HMC 809 self-winding calibre. The movement in totality includes the dual time function as a module developed entirely by H. Moser & Cie. Built on top of their self-winding Manufacture calibre.

IMHO

For all the watchmaking that Moser lays claim to, it’s really their dial executions that never seem to disappoint. The fume, the sunburst and that brilliant shade of burgundy aside, there’s also this engraved, transparent lacquer H. Moser & Cie. logo that’s just oozing with sex appeal.
