Funny thing is, today, more people may be aware of Massena LAB, than the actual man behind the entity. William Massena is a long-time industry veteran who is first and foremost a watch collector. And while his last held corporate title was as the Chief Operating Officer of Antiquorum in Geneva, he was also a retailer in the USA, with stores in Miami and New York City. But the reason why perhaps, today, more people may be aware of Massena LAB rather than William Massena, is because all of his collaborative and original timepiece creations have gone the mile to garner a name that is larger than the man himself.

So we’ll say that today, it is Massena LAB that is announcing three new additions to the brand’s Uni-Racer in what it’s calling the “holiday” color configurations. Which means to say that the Uni-Racer that was launched in late 2020, is receiving a splash of color in three flavors in the thick of Summer, just in time to help us celebrate coming out of the dreaded realities of 2020, which could not be over sooner.

The three color options include, the Cruise, Safari and Rally. Cruise, is as you may have guessed, inspired by all things nautical in with a deep indigo dial paired with aqua accents, silver subdials and red crosshairs. No prizes again, the Safari is inspired by its namesake universe, rendered in a deep green fumé dial with a sunburst effect and subdials in khaki. The Rally takes inspiration from the world of racing and is fitted with a silver base dial that makes for great splashboard for the cobalt blue subdials and tachymeter, with contrasting red crosshairs.

All three timepieces are powered by the manual winding Sellita SW510 M that beats at 4Hz and features hours, minutes and small running seconds at 9 o’clock with central chronograph seconds hand and 30-minute totaliser at 3 o’clock.

At 39mm in diameter, 13mm in thickness with domed sapphire crystals, each watch will be made in just 35 examples.
