Inside Audemars Piguet Perspectives on Time Exhibition
“Perspectives on Time” is a celebratory exhibition by Audemars Piguet, marking 150 years of watchmaking since the Manufacture was founded in Le Brassus in 1875. Held at The Gallery Theatre at the National Museum of Singapore from 10–13 September, the exhibition takes visitors through four distinct chapters of the Maison’s history and craft. Looking Back and Beyond traces 150 years of Audemars Piguet through exceptional archival pocket watches and wristwatches, beginning with the Manufacture’s earliest years. Guided by the Cosmos explores the Maison’s longstanding fascination with astronomical complications, calendars and the measurement of celestial cycles. Highlights range from the extraordinary 1921 “Grosse Pièce” pocket watch, featuring 19 complications and requiring seven years to complete, to the contemporary Calibre 7138 perpetual calendar, designed for intuitive adjustment entirely through the crown. The Beauty Within examines the art of openworking — the meticulous process of removing material from movement plates and bridges to reveal the mechanical architecture beneath, while maintaining both structural integrity and visual harmony. Giving Time a Voice turns to Audemars Piguet’s expertise in acoustic complications, exploring its history of minute repeaters and chiming watches through pieces such as the Supersonnerie and RD#1, accompanied by live demonstrations that bring these mechanisms to life. Join Constant as he takes us through each chapter of “Perspectives on Time”, exploring 150 years of innovation, craftsmanship and the evolution of Audemars Piguet.
