IAMWATCH 2024: New Watches And Everything That’s Happening So Far
IAMWATCH 2024 is currently underway, with two more full days for collectors, connoisseurs, and enthusiasts to gather altogether from across the globe. Hosted at The Singapore Edition Hotel, the event is set against a sleek, open-format design that allows for an immersive experience, encouraging face-to-face interactions between guests and the watchmakers themselves.
A platform for unveiling new creations
Besides getting immersed in the spirit of conviviality, visitors are welcome to get their hands on new releases, including the stylistic Chronotope from Russian watchmaker Anton Suhanov and a new blue dial that’s been outfitted in Sylvain Pinaud’s Origine. Look out for:
MB&F: Legacy Machine Split Escapement Eddy Jacquet Edition
MB&F’s collaboration with master engraver Eddy Jacquet took center stage with the debut of eight unique Legacy Machine Split Escapement watches.
Each piece in this series is a tribute to literary classics, featuring intricate engravings inspired by works such as Moby Dick and Robinson Crusoe. We took a closer look at the watch here.
Urwerk UR-150 Scorpion
The new UR-150 Scorpion from Urwerk features the brand’s iconic satellite hours complication but reimagined with a retrograde minutes hand that sweeps across a 240-degree arc before snapping back — much like the swift sting of a scorpion’s tail.
The watch is encased in titanium and offered in two variations, Titan and Dark.
Ulysse Nardin Freak ONE Navy Blue
Ulysse Nardin’s Freak ONE Navy Blue is a freshly colored iteration encased in titanium with a Carbonium bezel. The 44mm watch features a vivid deep blue dial and the signature flying carousel movement.
The Caliber UN-240 Manufacture movement indicates the minutes, while a blue rotating disc displays the hours. Equipped with the innovative Grinder automatic winding system, the watch boasts a 90-hour power reserve.
Krayon Anywhere Arborea
One of the most visually arresting debuts was the Krayon Anywhere Arborea, a limited edition of just 15 pieces. Inspired by Henri Rousseau’s painting The Virgin Forest at Sunset, the watch features Krayon’s unique ephemeris complication, which allows wearers to track sunrise and sunset times for any location on Earth.
The hand-painted dial, depicting the transition of day to night, reflects the harmonious relationship between art and time.
Maison Alcée Persée Or
The Persée Or table clock, crafted by Maison Alcée, offers one the chance to put together the multi-part assembly (comprising 202-components). Designed for both individual enjoyment and bonding experiences, the Persée Or provides an ideal opportunity for collaboration, turning the assembly process into a memorable shared adventure.
After its successful debut at the MB&F M.A.D. Gallery in Geneva, Maison Alcée is expanding its presence with a new retail space in Singapore with The Hour Glass group. Recognized for its innovation and bold approach, Maison Alcée was awarded the prestigious Audacity Prize at the 2023 Grand Prix de l’Horlogerie de Genève.
Looking ahead: Public days and more
With two more Public Days to go, guests can expect a variety of engaging activities including GTGs (get-togethers), masterclasses, lectures, and panel discussions, all offering further opportunities to engage with the makers and immerse themselves in the world of watchmaking.
