For the first time ever, Grand Seiko has created a limited edition collection exclusively for the US market. The new timepieces, powered by Spring Drive movements, are available in platinum (20 pieces, $53,000), rose gold (50 pieces, $29,500) and stainless steel (558 pieces, $6,800).

All the models feature a special dial treatment inspired by a Japanese decorative technique called Kira-zuri, which means “sparkling painting.”

“For Grand Seiko as a brand, it was especially important for us to design and unveil a collection of watches solely for the United States, as it’s one of our highest priority markets,” says Akio Naito, Chairman & CEO, Grand Seiko Corporation of America. “By doing so, we feel this will help further reinforce our dedication and ongoing commitment to the growing business in the market, and position our brand for exciting things to come in the future.”

Seiko just recently announced the formation of a new company that will market the Grand Seiko brand in the United States of America, the Grand Seiko Corporation of America, a wholly owned subsidiary of Seiko Watch Corporation.

“The creation of this new company is an important part of our global strategy to raise further the profile of Grand Seiko,” says Shinji Hattori, Chairman and CEO of Seiko Watch Corporation. “Grand Seiko has been making remarkable progress in the USA in the past two years. The new company will be able to build on that momentum, focusing uniquely on developing Grand Seiko as a luxury watch brand and serving the needs of retail partners and our customers. Exciting times lie ahead.”

Having these new US-exclusive timepieces is a great development in Grand Seiko’s continuing USA story.
