Taking TAG Heuer’s latest out for a spin.
Following on from their contemporary skeleton take on the Monaco from a few months back, the latest version of the iconic square chronograph ditches the heritage charm in favour of something more modern — meet the TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Night Driver, and new (and highly luminescent) limited edition.

TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Night Driver

Limited to 600 pieces, this nocturnal take on one of the most famous racing chronographs of all time is Inspired by the thrilling experience of night driving. At its best, driving in the dark of night is a unique sensation, free of any distraction beyond the car and the road. The Monaco Night Driver captures this purity, enhancing the driver’s connection with their vehicle. Whenever you’re driving, legibility is paramount, and here the, Monaco really excels. The deep grey central dial contrasts sharply with the luminous blue Super-LumiNova hands and hour markers, ensuring instant readability.

Of course, it’s only when the lights are low that you see the fullest expression of this watch’s nocturnal personality. As daylight transitions into night, the exterior dial metamorphoses from a cool light grey to a vibrant, glowing blue, paying homage to the classic Monaco chronographs of the past. This transformation extends to the chronograph registers.

Dial-side party tricks aside, this watch has been crafted for durability. The case is constructed from grade 5 titanium, coated in black DLC (diamond-like carbon) material, so it is lightweight and scratch-resistant, which is a winning combo. On the movement side, this watch is running the Calibre Heuer 02, as you’d expect. To fit with the theme of the watch, it’s got a blacked-out rotor and bright blue highlights.

The Monaco is most famous for its link to Steve McQueen, and we think that if he was around today, he’d be excited by night racing and this watch in equal measure.
