In London, on Wednesday Bremont launched its latest limited edition – the 1918 – at a black tie event in the Imperial War Museum. The 1918 is a self-winding, 43mm, GMT, chronograph wristwatch; available in either stainless steel with a white dial (275 pieces), rose gold with a black dial (75 pieces), or white gold with a blue dial (also 75 pieces).
Produced in partnership with the Royal Air Forces Association (RAFA), the 1918 collection was made in celebration of the RAF’s centenary next year. A percentage of every Bremont 1918 sold will go to the RAFA – to assist in its support of former and serving members of the RAF.

In reference to the Royal Air Force the 1918 features: the military ‘broad arrow’ logo on the dial, a propeller-shaped rotor – visible through a sapphire crystal caseback – made using materials from three RAF aeroplanes that flew in the Battle of Britain (a Supermarine Spitfire, a Hawker Hurricane and a Bristol Blenheim) and from one of the RAF’s first planes (a Royal Aircraft Factory S.E.5A), as well as a 6 o’clock AM/PM indicator disc decorated with RAF aerial battle scenes.

Nick English, Bremont’s co-founder, states, ““One hundred years of military aviation is a phenomenal milestone to reach and certainly one we couldn’t miss celebrating.” He goes on to say, “to be working with the RAFA organisation is something that means a tremendous amount to us; we are thrilled that the Bremont 1918 can help support a charity which has done such an enormous amount in providing welfare and support to those who currently serve, and have previously served, in the RAF.”
