Jacob & Co. Signs Long-Term Partnership with Bugatti

High jewelry and high-watchmaking house Jacob & Co today announced a seven-year partnership with Bugatti, arguably the world’s most famous high performance sports car maker, to collaborate on a series of exclusive co-branded timepieces. Both companies are known for cutting-edge design and for pushing the limits of what is mechanically possible, making this partnership a perfect match.

“I am so excited about this partnership,” Jacob Arabo, founder of Jacob & Co., says in an exclusive interview with Revolution.Watch. “We have the chance to make history, to develop timepieces the world has never seen before, to bring these amazing Bugatti supercars into the watchmaking world.

“When I look at the Bugatti Chiron sports car, the perfectly refined engineering is so powerful that sometimes it appears to be moving even when it is standing still,” he continues. “That’s the same feeling I get when I wear our high complication timepieces: a rush, a sense of energy, movement and power that can barely be contained.”

Bugatti President Stephan Winkelmann agrees, “We wanted to do this partnership with Jacob & Co. because we are both absolutely dedicated to innovation, craftsmanship, and the quality of the materials. To put it simply: we wanted to have the best with the best.”

To kick off the partnership, Jacob & Co. is introducing two Bugatti-themed timepieces at Baselworld, with more to come in the future.

The first is a limited edition, the Twin Turbo Furious Bugatti Edition. The original Twin Turbo Furious features twin triple-axis tourbillons, a column-wheel chronograph and a decimal repeater. Designed with high performance sports cars in mind, the Twin Turbo Furious Bugatti Edition uses turquoise around the dial to pay homage to Bugatti’s 110-year anniversary Chiron, and places the Bugatti logo in the center of the dial. The watch also renames the power reserve indicator “fuel,” sporting the colors of the French flag on the gauge, honoring Bugatti’s heritage. Only 39 timepieces will be made, each individually numbered: 18 in carbon fiber, 18 in rose gold, and three adorned with diamonds.

The second timepiece is a special version of the sporty Epic X Chronograph called the Bugatti Édition Limitée 110 Ans. This is a limited edition of 110 pieces to mark each year since the founding of Bugatti by Ettore Bugatti in 1909 in Molsheim, located in the Alsace region of France. The Bugatti version features a special forged carbon case, not available anywhere else in the Epic X range, and incorporates the colors of the French flag into its bold dial design. The timepiece comes on a special rubber strap inspired by the iconic rear sections of Bugatti supercars and features an “EB” logo on the buckle to commemorate the partnership.
