Chopard Watches and Wonders 2025: Platinum Alpine Eagle, L.U.C Quattro, L’Heure Du Diamant

Quiet luxury maketh these Chopard novelties, with L’Heure du Diamant stealing some of the spotlight for once.

As watch journalists, it is thrilling for us to see Chopard’s watchmaking identity growing steadily from strength to strength. The L.U.C line has never been more appealing collectors, both from a technical and an aesthetic standpoint. The Alpine Eagle has come into its own, symbolizing the vision of a manufacture and the cross-generational bond of the Scheufele family. The Happy Sport retains its unique positioning in the industry. Even L’Heure du Diamant is getting its time in the sun this year. This year’s Chopard Watches & Wonders novelties bring us on a whirlwind tour of the manufacture’s key pillars. Plus a couple of fun surprises along the way.

Since its introduction in 2019, the Alpine Eagle has stood out as Chopard’s take on the modern luxury sport-chic watch. To date there has been multiple iterations of this watch, over variations in case material, case size, dial color and gem-setting. Revolution understands that some creative input on the Alpine Eagle line comes from Caroline-Marie Scheufele, who represents the Scheufele family’s third generation along with her brother Karl-Fritz. This makes the Alpine Eagle truly unique, and a collection only a family-owned business like Chopard could ever create.

Alpine Eagle 41 XPS CS Platinum

So let’s look at the Chopard Watches & Wonders novelties. First up, the Alpine Eagle 41 XPS CS Platinum. This is the first platinum model in the collection, although Chopard has from time to time made L.U.C models in this material. Using only 950 platinum, of course, which is the purest version available. It exhibits a natural, silvery-white appearance compared to the bright-white of rhodium-plated white gold. Still, watch manufactures often make it a point to clearly distinguish platinum models from similar ones in white gold.

Common methods typically include exclusive dial colors for the platinum model. Patek Philippe famously sets platinum models with a single round diamond on the case at six o’clock. What about Chopard? From this year on, all platinum Chopard watches will be engraved with a bee motif. Like a maker’s mark or a secret symbol known only to owners of platinum Chopard watches.

Calibre 96.42-L measures 3.3mm in height

Why a bee, though? Since the time of Louis-Ulysse Chopard in the 19th century, this insect has been one of the symbols of the manufacture. Industrious, honest and modest, it is the lynchpin of a cohesive whole held together by collaborative endeavours. As such it perfectly embodies the values with which the workshops have never ceased to identify.

Those who already own a platinum Chopard watch may opt to receive this engraving when the watch is sent back for servicing.

The Alpine Eagle 41 XPS CS Platinum comes with a new dial color the manufacture has named Shades of Ice. A blue tone in gradient hues, it is paler at the center and intensifies towards the edges, like an icy glacier seen on a bright sunny day. It wears fantastically on the wrist thanks to a svelte 8mm profile and a fastidiously produced bracelet.

Alpine Eagle 33

First two-tone Lucent Steel and yellow gold Alpine Eagle 33

Alpine Eagle 33

Expanding the versatility of the Alpine Eagle collection, we’ve arrived at a new two-tone steel and yellow gold reference in the Alpine Eagle 33 among the Chopard Watches & Wonders novelties. Here’s where two classic all-time favorite materials, Lucent Steel and yellow gold, unite as one, with a sprinkling of diamonds for extra brilliance.

Yes this new Alpine Eagle 33 is all about shimmer and shine. Lucent Steel is Chopard’s proprietary steel alloy which is at least 80% recycled and extra refined, with a unique luster that makes it comparable to white gold. In this watch, the Lucent Steel components feature a vertical brushed finish, bringing aesthetic juxtaposition to the remaining parts in polished yellow gold.

Since its introduction in 2019, the only two-tone Alpine Eagles have been in steel and rose gold.

Chopard L.U.C Quattro rose gold 1

L.U.C Quattro 25th Anniversary

L.U.C Quattro

It’s the 25th anniversary of the Chopard four-barrel Quattro movement and the manufacture is celebrating with an all-new case updated to the L.U.C’s latest design aesthetic. With four series-coupled barrels stacked in pairs for a total of 1.885 meters of springs, the Quattro configuration is the first and only one of its kind in the world. It produces a total of 216 hours of power reserve — nine whole days — all delivered with constant force to the escapement.

First released in 2000, the L.U.C Calibre 98.01-L is the second in-house movement produced at the Chopard manufacture. Building on the work done on Calibre 96.01-L, the objective here was to achieve extended power reserve without compromising on movement height or architectural sophistication. Over the years, variations to this movement have been introduced, and this year’s Calibre 98.09-L shifts the power reserve indication to a movement bridge visible through the caseback. As such, the freed up space allows Chopard to incorporate an analog date display with small running seconds.

Updated Calibre 98.09-L

But the big story is still the updated case profile, slimmed down to a tight 10.4mm across a diameter of 39mm. Cased in ethical 18K rose gold, it has a bassiné shape where the base is narrower than the domed, polished bezel. This is the same case as the new L.U.C Lunar One and L.U.C Flying T Twin Perpetual released in January.

Another feature that stands apart from other L.U.C Quattro models is the frosted blue dial. Rose gold hour markers and hands match the case material. This watch can be worn with a matching blue alligator strap or brown calfskin.

Chopard L

L’Heure du Diamant Moonphase – a first in the collection

L’Heure du Diamant Moonphase

The haute joaillerie darling of Chopard’s timepieces, L’Heure du Diamant is getting its much deserve time in the sun this year. With L’Heure du Diamant Moonphase, the Chopard Watches & Wonders novelties welcomes the very first L’Heure du Diamant complication — and it’s a mechanical one at that. Chopard has famously made one of the smallest self-winding movements in the industry, the aforementioned Calibre 09.01-C.

Here we have a variation of that movement, Calibre 09.02-C, measuring just 20.40mm by 4.6mm. Its moonphase display utilizes a beautiful blue aventurine glass disc with a white gold moon. Notably this is an astronomical moonphase which makes a difference of one day every 122 years.

The dial is also made in blue aventurine glass echoing a velvety midnight sky full of stars. Additional dazzle arrives in the form of brilliant-cut diamonds. Jewelry lovers will immediately recognize the unique setting technique around the bezel and lugs known as Chopard’s crown setting method. This technique invites maximum light penetration, thus creating a breath-taking display of fire and sparkle.

Likewise the moonphase display and hour markers are studded with smaller round diamonds evoking the beauty of stars.

Chopard L

L’Heure du Diamant 26mm with white mother-of-pearl in white gold

L’Heure du Diamant 26mm

Undoubtedly, L’Heure du Diamant’s greatest strength is in the perfect role it plays as an evening watch. So Chopard leans hard on this aspect of the collection, revisiting the round cased variation but expanding it with a plethora of hardstone dials. Mother-of-pearl, onyx, opal, carnelian, agate, rose quartz… for a total of 12 different styles. One for every month of the year — why not?

Worn on colorful leather straps or the Chopard signature bracelet with textured ‘bark-type’ motif, L’Heure du Diamant 26mm indulges in our desire for watches that are fun, luxurious and timeless across generations.

Happy Sport 33 with lavender tone lepidolite dial

Happy Sport 33mm

Chopard Watches & Wonders novelties takes us finally to the brand’s most recognizable timepiece icon. Happy Sport gets a sweet new look this year. Lepidolite brings hints of soft lavender to the dial, exhibiting a pearly luster and a patterned matrix throwing out shades of lilac, mauve, purple and plum.

While hardstone dials are becoming a popular trend across the watch industry, lepidolite isn’t one of the usual suspects. This gives the Happy Sport 33mm a special quality not found anywhere else.
