The L.U.C XPS 1860 Officer SHH Edition celebrates Chopard’s rich legacy by introducing a distinctive royal blue dial into its design for the first time. The shade is a vibrant addition to the handsomely crafted watch, complete with the hand-guilloché dial alongside a honeycomb motif.
The L.U.C 1860 is, in the words of Founder Wei Koh, “one of the greatest men’s dress watches of all time.” Besides being the very first watch created in the L.U.C collection and by Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, whom many believe his very character of “perfect manners and discreet elegance” is embodied in a timepiece, the watch is a perfect dress watch of neoclassical design.
A gilded timepiece in royal blue
Limited to a mere dozen pieces, this special creation exudes exclusivity and sophistication, catering to the most discerning aficionados. The watch’s ethically sourced 18K yellow gold case frames a resplendent 18K gold royal blue hand-guilloché design, accentuating its timeless appeal and refined demeanor.
This color was exclusively developed for Sincere Fine Watches, one chosen with deliberate intent. The inaugural use of royal blue in the SHH Edition by Chopard symbolizes qualities such as authority, trust, and confidence, and reflects the enduring partnership between the Maison and the retailer.
Beyond its exquisite aesthetics, the mechanics of the 1860 Officer SHH Edition is concealed behind a hinged back cover, which elegantly opens to reveal the intricately crafted movement. In spite of this addition, the watch maintains its slender profile, ensuring a comfortable fit on the wrist.
Revealing an officer’s style caseback with honeycomb motif
An officer’s style caseback has its charm. Here on the back lies hand-engraved depictions of bees and a beehive, with the bees deliberately arranged randomly to guarantee the distinctiveness of every piece.
These intricate bee-themed motifs are a nod to founder Louis-Ulysse Chopard, who adopted the symbolism for the maison in the early years in favor of its characteristics — a creature so industrious and modest. Within, the watch delivers chronometer-certified precision and a substantial power reserve — at 65 hours, thanks to the ultra-thin L.U.C 96.01-L movement.
