The Latest Royal Oak Offshore and Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet Releases Shine In Shades Of Gray And Colored Ceramic

The Latest Royal Oak Offshore and Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet - Strong additions that play to AP's strengths.

Much of the focus on Audemars Piguet’s first back of 2025 novelties has been at the complicated end of the spectrum, and rightfully so (I mean, that new perpetual calendar is something else). But sometimes all you need is a new coat of proverbial paint to freshen things up — and that’s exactly what we get with two new ceramic takes on the Royal Oak Offshore and a pair of minimalist Code 11.59 pieces in captivating grey.

First, the pair of new Code 11.59 pieces in shades of grey. This pair of steel watches — while billed as great, have more than a fair share of blue accents in the specific ‘Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50’ hue that the collection championed back in 2023. The three-handed version sees a blue rehaut bridge the divide between the steely case and the collection’s signature guilloché pattern, with a galvanic treatment to give just the right shade of steely grey. The chronograph version (understandably) sees the blue elements extend to the chronograph sub-dials, while the running small seconds are all blue. While the dials are — as we’ve come to expect on Code 11.59 — subtle and sophisticated, it’s the case that really dazzles. With its unique dezign, ultra-slender bezel and complex construction, this watch is one example where steel is a more challenging than gold. Completing these new monochromatic beauties is a pair of Audemars Piguet’s latest calibers, the 4302 selfwinding and 4401 selfwinding chronograph respectively. With fine finishing, pink gold rotors and several patented chonometry enhancing details, there’s no denying that these grey-clad watches make for a compelling pair.

Royal Oak Offshore introduces new colored ceramics

While the Code 11.59 is Audemars Piguet’s expression of more classical watchmaking, the Royal Oak — especially in its souped-up Offshore form — is resolutely contemporary. These two new takes on the Offshore Chronograph are contemporary not just in design, but in construction.

First up is a 43mm model, built of a black ceramic base with green ceramic and titanium details. The resulting watch is sporty and colourful, while not being overly brash. The green ceramic bezel and Mega Tapisserie dial stands out against the black ceramic central case, while the titanium case back frame, pusher guards, and bracelet studs are the only points of lightness amidst the darker hues of the case. It’s a powerful statement and feels quintessentially Offshore.

However, if green highlights feel to exuberant for your tastes, there’s a full black 42mm model with a matching integrated ceramic bracelet. In fact, the only detail breaking up the black-on-black livery is the eight evenly spaced steel bezel screws. Even the dial is blacked out, down to the blackened white gold hands and grey luminous material. Audemars Piguet is no stranger to the power of black ceramic, and this latest expression of the trope is perfectly on brand for both AP and the Offshore.
