Ulysse Nardin: Patrik Hoffman is Out, Patrick Pruniaux In

Imagine my surprise when I woke up early (4 am!) to close my magazine this morning and heard a rumor that Revolution’s good friend Patrik Hoffmann was stepping down from heading up revolutionary watch brand Ulysse Nardin. I immediately reached out to him via iMessage and, lo and behold, he responded that it was true, but he couldn’t comment until the company issued its press release, and he would appreciate it if I would wait to announce the situation until then.

Respecting Ulysse Nardin’s wishes and Hoffmann’s (unlike some other media outlets), I patiently waited until the release came down and now it has and it’s official – Hoffmann has left Ulysse Nardin for personal reasons.

According to the company’s press release, Hoffmann is leaving UN “to move in a new direction for personal reasons.”

Replacing Hoffmann is Patrick Pruniaux, effective August 28, 2017. Pruniaux, who worked at both TAG Heuer and Apple (developing the Apple watch), will report to Albert Bensoussan, CEO of Kering Luxury – Watches and Jewellery division.

We at Revolution wish Hoffmann the best in his new endeavors and look forward to working with Pruniaux.

Editor’s note: Further word on the street also includes the departure of one of Ulysse Nardin’s pioneering employees and head of marketing, Susanne Hurni. Susanne is famously known for being the third employee whom Rolf Schnyder hired when he kick started the brand back in 1983.
