Omega unveils new white dial edition of the Speedmaster Moonwatch

It was first spotted on the wrist of Daniel Craig at the Planet OMEGA Exhibition in New York last November.
The latest incarnation of the Speedmaster Moonwatch now sports a captivating white dial. This addition to the Moonwatch lineup has been an anticipated one, all while paying homage to the illustrious heritage of space exploration.

Daniel Craig wore this Speedmaster in New York

Truth be told — we’ve all seen this before. Yes, on the wrist of Daniel Craig back in November 2023. The Omega brand ambassador was spotted with a then mysterious white Speedy when he wore it at the Planet Omega Exhibition in New York.

And now that it’s here, Speedy heads already have a nickname for this white-dialed number: Speedmaster Moonwatch ‘Daniel Craig’. Isn’t that clever?

The Moonwatch with a white side

The white lacquered dial is the most striking feature. A departure from the traditional black, Omega moves in on this color that has been adopted on previous Moonwatch-inspired timepieces, such as this white ceramic version in the White Side of the Moon bi-compax chronograph, and in several iterations of the Alaska Project.
In fact, the latter was very much the muse of the new Speedmaster, bearing details inspired from the Alaska I prototype. The choice of white then was to offer thermal reflection, ensuring optimal performance in the watch in the most extreme conditions of space.
The homage to the red case isn’t overused, but written in the Speedmaster name, which adds a pop of color, in addition to black detailing and applied indexes that provide contrast.
The watch is dressed in three bracelet types — stainless steel, black leather strap, and black rubber. The steel bracelet in question adopts a vintage-inspired design, sporting five arched links along with polished and brushed detailing.
The black leather is finished with red and white stitching, while the rubber strap features a textured lunar surface pattern.
