New Colours: HYT H0 Black Fluid and H5 Blue Fluid

HYT’s watches run against the grain of convention, yet they are utterly consistent in reflecting the continuity of time instead of chopping it into discrete parcels, by taking a leaf from the water clocks of the antiquity to create cutting edge mechanical movements with waterworks shrunk to fit one’s wrist. To create a water clock that functions even while it is moved through myriad positions on a wrist, requires even more cunning engineering than translating a pendulem onto a wrist via a spring. Moreover, the display of time as a contstant push-pull between two fluids (one dyed, the other clear) as controlled by the movement-driven ballast with walls a quarter the thickness of a strand of hair, is nothing short of poetic. The meniscus between the two liquid fronts is, as HYT points out, the present instance between past and future time.

For a very tumultous and gloomy 2020 then, a pair of novelties ostensibly as different as night and day while sharing the same fundamentals, to amuse us at all hours.

H0 Black Fluid

Shrounded in black, with its bellows veiled behind grey glass and accented with orange Superluminova the hue of a setting sun; the H0 leaves just enough to the imagination with a vibe that is equal parts sporty and ‘clubby’.

H5 Blue Fluid

As the H0 teases, the H5 lays everything out in the open, a fantastical machine of blue and greys reminiscent of daylight. The twin bellows stand stark in plain view, with more on offer via its sapphire crystal display back. This edition is available in a limited edition of 25 pieces.
