LVMH Watch Week 2026: The Art of Gold — Bulgari’s Roman Mastery

At LVMH Watch Week 2026, Bulgari reimagines two icons, Monete and Tubogas, through a dialogue of Roman soul and Swiss precision

At this year’s LVMH Watch Week, Bulgari reaffirms its ability to speak the language of Roman sensuality and Swiss horological precision with unmistakable fluency. Bulgari is one of those brands whose ‘language’ is pretty hard to miss even if one were to dispense with the logo, and it’s a little game I sometimes like to play, because it can often reveal two things – one is just how strong a brand’s aesthetic codes are, and two, let’s be fair, how intimate our knowledge of these codes really is. When it comes to Bulgari, I’m a diehard convert, and diving into these two releases I love that they both deliver something delightful and new while adhering to the Bulgari lexicon.

Under the banner of The Art of Gold, the maison unveils two new expressions of its heritage: the Maglia Milanese Monete and the Tubogas Manchette. Both watches are pure Bulgari – boldly golden, tactile, and underpinned by movements that assert horological sophistication. They embody the house’s identity as a jeweller of time.

For decades, the Monete collection has explored timekeeping through highlights of history. Its signature ancient coins – each authentic – root the collection in Rome’s imperial heritage. This year, Bulgari extends that lineage through a new material language: supple Milanese mesh. Crafted from interlaced rose-gold threads, the bracelet evokes Renaissance goldsmithing translated into contemporary form for the wrist. An antique coin depicting Emperor Caracalla (198–297 AD) crowns the secret watch’s cover, concealing a white mother-of-pearl dial beneath. The bracelet’s softness and geometry combine in a composition of elegant contrasts that highlight this intriguing contrast of ancient and modern.

Inside, the Piccolissimo BVL 100 — the world’s smallest round mechanical calibre — beats at 21,600 vibrations per hour. Just 13.5mm across and 2.5mm thick, this tiny but mighty mechanical masterpiece weighs 1.9 grams and comprises 102 components, all designed and assembled in Bulgari’s Le Sentier manufacture. For 2026, it gains a crown for manual winding and thanks to a sapphire crystal back, you can admire the poetry of its construction.

“The essence of this object lies in its flexibility, an inspiration that gave rise to an unexpected project, developed over time. This creation is a revelation, offering a unique opportunity to discover the Maison’s world of watchmaking and jewelry. Its eclectic nature is revealed in the combination of various motifs: an ancient coin, a geometric octagon, and delicate Milanese mesh,” says Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani, Bulgari’s Product Creation Executive Director.

Bulgari Tubogas Manchette

While Monete evokes the codes of Rome, the Tubogas Manchette expresses a very different spirit namely that of 1970s Italian design. Reinterpreting an archival 1974 model from a family first created in the 1940s, Bulgari turns its iconic coiled bracelet into a wide, single-wrap cuff, a ribbon of gold alive with colour and light. Nearly 12 carats of diamonds sparkle away on its yellow-gold surface, punctuated by a constellation of citrines, rubellites, peridots, amethysts, topazes, and spessartites, arranged in Bulgari’s unmistakable flair for high-octane bling. Each coil of the bracelet is individually molded and polished before being assembled on a titanium blade, a new way of construction that showcases Tubogas’s iconic flexibility with the Bulgari jeweller’s precise craft. The cuff’s square dial echoes Bulgari’s Seventies geometry, linking this exuberant jewel-watch to a golden age of Italian design.
