Introducing the new Longines Spirit Flyback
The brand just unveiled the first of its Spring releases, the Longines Spirit Flyback, which is a tip of the hat to the first serial chronograph with flyback function that Longines invented in 1925. As you might be aware, a flyback chronograph literally ‘flies back’ at the push of a button. While other chronographs will require you to stop the chronograph hand, reset it and start it again in order to take a new lap timing, a flyback chronograph’s chronograph hand starts clocking a new lap instantly at the push of one button. This function enables the wearer to time multiple laps in rapid succession.

The Longines Spirit Flyback on leather for the vintage feel
The COSC-certified Longines Spirit Flyback arrives in a 42mm steel case, which houses the self-winding column-wheel L791.4 movement, a new in-house movement that Longines has engineered to be resistant to magnetism, equipped with a silicon balance spring, and packed with a power reserve of 68 hours. Through its clear case back, one can admire an array of satin, matt and polished finishes, along with an oscillating weight engraved with a globe that pays homage to the Longines Spirit collection and the flyback chronograph that Longines invented almost a century ago.
