Jaeger-LeCoultre at Watches and Wonders 2025: Introducing 9 New Reverso Models

Could a strong focus on the Reverso mark a change in fortune for Jaeger-LeCoultre?

This year, with the return of one of the brand’s most successful CEOs, Jérôme Lambert, there are great hopes that Jaeger-LeCoultre, the “Grande Maison” of the Vallée de Joux, can regain some of the market share that it has lost in recent years. A brand known for its rich storytelling and innovative mechanical solutions to age-old horological dilemmas, JLC has struggled to appeal to a new generation of watch buyers, something that Lambert hopes to reverse with the 2025 collection.

The jewel in Jaeger-LeCoultre’s crown since its debut in 1931, the Reverso — which according to legend, began its life as an early sports watch for polo players — has become a powerful vessel for the Maison to express its artistic and watchmaking skills. For that reason, 2025 is all about celebrating the genesis of the Reverso at the same time as anchoring the brand’s creative expertise.

A model of perfect proportion, the unique flippable case of the Reverso has proved a perfect canvas for metiers d’art from gem-setting to enameling, miniature painting and engraving. More than this, the shaped movement has proved a breeding ground for innovation, resulting in more than 50 individual calibres being created just for the Reverso.

When the demand for complicated wristwatches took off in the 1980s and 1990s, the Reverso proved a perfect vehicle thanks to its reversible case, which allowed for two watch faces and the inclusion of multiple functions.

So, with their 2025 collection, Jaeger-LeCoultre’s aim is to celebrate the Reverso and everything it has meant over its 94 years, reminding existing collectors of its successes and highlights while also bringing these achievements to a new audience.

Reverso Hybris Artistica Calibre 179

Jaeger-LeCoultre has, for 2025, created 10 examples of The Reverso Hybris Artistica Calibre 179 in white gold. A showcase of everything the Maison stands for, this watch unites 180 distinct skills that have all been mastered by JLC and are now executed under one roof.

At the heart of the watch is the Calibre 179, featuring Jaeger-LeCoultre’s signature 123-component multi-axis Gyrotourbillon, with an inner cage rotating every 16 seconds and a peripheral carriage completing a revolution each minute. Thanks to the mirror-polished blue lacquer disc beneath, the tourbillon appears to float between the watch’s two faces.

The front dial is decorated with a lattice of fine white gold lines against deep blue lacquer, while the reverse features a skeletonised design with blue lacquer accents.

Despite the complex components that it holds, the white-gold case is a wearable 51.2mm × 31mm and just 13.63mm thick measuring. The blue alligator-leather strap is secured by a folding buckle that is made from 46 components and allows for precise 0.5mm adjustments.

Reverso Tribute Minute Repeater

Jaeger-LeCoultre has been developing chiming watches since 1870, always refining and pushing the boundaries of what is considered possible. With this new watch, the case has been completely redesigned from the Reverso Répétition Minutes of 1994 to utilise every millimeter — even the trigger on the side of the case to activate the repeater has been redeveloped to sit closer to the case.

Limited to just 30 pieces, the watch is powered by the new Calibre 953 that integrates seven patents, including crystal gongs for enhanced resonance and trébuchet hammers that optimise energy efficiency without compromising sound clarity. A silent-interval elimination mechanism ensures seamless transitions between chimes, further refining the acoustic experience.

While the front dial features hand-guilloché in a barley-seed pattern, layered with teal-hued grand feu enamel, the openworked reverse dial reveals the repeater mechanism below cantilevered indices that appear to float above the movement.

Remarkably, for a watch at this level of complexity, the pink gold case is just 12.6mm thick. The piece is presented on a simple black alligator-leather strap with adjustable folding clasp.

Reverso Tribute Geographic

This year Jaeger-LeCoultre has introduced a fresh interpretation of the Geographic world-timer powered by the brand-new Calibre 834, a fully integrated movement, designed and produced entirely in-house. The movement drives a classic 24-hour time zone display with a world map at its centre and, in a unique twist, Jaeger-LeCoultre has inverted the traditional world timer mechanism to feature a static display of city names accompanied by a rotating 24-hour ring.

The Reverso Tribute Geographic comes in two variants: a sleek stainless-steel model that will be part of the core collection and a limited-edition of 150 pieces in pink gold.

The front dial of the watch is understated and belies the delights on the back. The steel model has a rich blue sunray finish, while the pink gold version is finished with a warm chocolate shade. Both dials feature a large date display at 12 o’clock and a small seconds subdial at 6.

For this 24-hour time zone display, Jaeger-LeCoultre features a rotating 24-hour ring that jumps in hourly increments. The hours are set using a discreet pusher hidden between the lugs at the top of the case. Image: Revolution ©

Flip the watch over, and there is an animated world time display set into the polished caseback. Set over three levels, the lacquered and laser engraved world map has an incredible depth remarkable effect of visual depth. The city names are engraved directly onto the caseback, surrounding a rotating, two-tone 24-hour ring that indicates day and night.

The watch is sold with two interchangeable straps designed by Argentinian maker of riding boots and long-time JLC partner, Casa Fagliano.

Reverso Tribute Monoface Small Seconds

Eschewing complicated brilliance for vintage glamour, JLC has introduced a brand new look to the collection with the latest Reverso Tribute Monoface Small Seconds. This pink gold delight features a Milanese link bracelet which, almost unbelievably considering how perfect the pairing is, is a first for the Reverso.

Creating the bracelet involved weaving 16 metres of gold thread into a supple and silky mesh using the Milanese technique that was developed in 13th-century Milan. Originally used in armour, it was later used in jewellery design before becoming a popular style of watch bracelet in the 1970s.

The watch dial is in a soft golden shade with a grained texture that presents as a matte finish complementing the highly polished case. The applied hour markers and Dauphine hands retain the Art Deco aesthetic of the original and the small seconds at 6 o’clock brings added interest.

Slim and elegant at just 7.56mm thick, the bracelet is semi integrated to retain the sleek lines of the watch. The plain gold caseback presents the perfect canvas for personalisation through engraving or lacquering. Inside the case is a hand-wound manufacture Calibre 822.

Reverso Tribute Enamel “Shahnameh”

In a nod to its rich heritage and the sport that inspired its creation, Jaeger-LeCoultre has unveiled a quartet of new Reverso Tribute Enamel timepieces. Some of the most appealing métiers d’art models that the brand has revealed in recent years, the watches not only look to the Reverso’s origins on the polo field but also reference the apparent Persian roots of the sport.

The front dials feature different shades of grand feu enamel over various hand-guilloché patterns, while the caseback of each of the watches has a miniature reproduction of an illustration from the Shah Tahmasp Shahnameh on it, including a tableau that is said to be the first ever image of polo.

Each of the miniatures involves more than 100 hours of work, all created within Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Métiers Rares atelier. As well as enamel painting, paillonnage – a rare enamelling technique involving the placement of gold leaf – has also been used to recreate the scenes from the book.

Limited to just 10 pieces each, these watches represent a culmination of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s experience and expertise in enamelling that dates back to 1936.

Reverso Tribute Nonantieme ‘Enamel’

The story continues with a new version of the Reverso Tribute Nonantieme ‘Enamel’, in a limited edition of 90 pink-gold pieces. This latest iteration has a night sky scene of blue enamel on the reverse side, with engraved latitude and longitude lines and a sprinkle of golden stars. Taking centre stage are two overlapping apertures that display a jumping digital hour and rotating minutes disc. In the middle is a day/night indicator with a polished sun and moon.

Whereas the front features a grey sunray-brushed dial with elongated applied indexes and Dauphine hands. A grande date display sits at 12 o’clock with a patented mechanism that uses side-by-side discs instead of stacked ones, ensuring both digits appear at the same level. Balancing the date is a small seconds counter and moonphase indicator at 6.

The watch is powered by the in-house Calibre 826, comprising 243 components. With a direct nod to the 1930s, this new Nonantieme underscores the Reverso’s enduring appeal through the decades.

Reverso One ‘Precious Flowers’

This year sees two new additions to the Reverso One ‘Precious Flowers’ series with the Green and Purple Arums models, that combine fine watchmaking, artistic crafts and high jewellery.

Reverso One 'Precious Flowers' Green Arums

Reverso One ‘Precious Flowers’ Green Arums

Introduced in 2016, the Reverso One collection is a modern evolution of the Reverso design, tailored specifically for women. Its elongated proportions serves as an ideal canvas for metiers d’art.

The dials of the new pieces are in mother-of-pearl, the cases feature diamond-set gadroons and lugs and a reverse-set diamond is set into the winding crown. It is on the reverse, however, that the true artistry unfolds. The Green Arums model features vibrant green champlevé enamel flowers and foliage, highlighted by 409 snow- and grain-set diamonds.

Reverso One 'Precious Flowers' Purple Aurums

The Purple Arums is depicted in purple, pink and green champlevé enamel with a floral design that wraps around the case. More than 630 snow- and grain-set diamonds add the sparkle.

Both models are powered by the hand-wound Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 846 and are presented on alligator-leather straps.

Reverso One ‘Precious Colours’

A new limited-edition, hand-wound jewellery watch features a white-gold case encrusted in 277 diamonds and grand feu enamelling. The design draws from the geometric patterns of the Art Deco period I which the Reverso was born. Vibrant chevrons, zigzags and rectilinear motifs are highlighted with metallic accents. The enamel work requires 60 hours and up to 15 firings at 800°C, which is followed by 40 hours of gem-setting.

The mother-of-pearl dial is framed by enamel and diamonds but it is the caseback that reveals Jaeger-LeCoultre’s incredible jewellery skills. Six shades of enamel in grey, mauve, pink, purple, white and yellow combine to create an illusion of depth and movement and a white alligator-leather strap completes the look.

Reverso Tribute Duoface Small Seconds

If all of the above show the most daring aspects of the Reverso through the decades, the two new Duoface Small Seconds models represent the watch in its simplest — and some would say best — incarnation.

The new models, both in steel cases, are available with sunray black or blue dial, which required 24 layers of lacquer to achieve its vivid hue. The Duoface mechanism, introduced in 1994, was an ingenious step forward for the model, enabling the Reverso to show two independent time displays on opposite sides of the watch, driven by a single movement. The latest Reverso Tribute Duoface Small Seconds continues in this vein and also brings additional functions to both dials.
