As part of one of its most exciting partnerships with the Ironman Triathlon series of endurance sporting events, Breitling has introduced its new collection of Ironman sports watches. While the first Endurance Pro IRONMAN® watch comes in red and will be available at the brand’s boutiques and with its distributors across the world, the second version in black and gold is exclusively available for IRONMAN® race finishers.

This is not the first time Breitling and the Ironman Group have collaborated to create watches. In 2019, the two launched the Superocean Ironman Limited Edition. Since its inception in 1978, the IRONMAN® triathlon has come to represent the ultimate test of body, mind, and spirit for both professional and amateur athletes. The competition stages – swimming, cycling, and running – are activities that feature prominently in the lifestyles of Breitling’s core customer base – men and women of action, purpose, and style.

Breitling’s association with high-performance sports and its protagonists is not new. Everyone knows about Breitling’s connection with cycling —Georges Kern, the brand’s CEO, is also an avid cyclist—which came into limelight when Tadej Pogačar wore a yellow Breitling Endurance as he crossed the finish line of the Tour de France as its winner in 2020.

The new Endurance Pro IRONMAN® comes in a 44-millimeter Breitlight case. Breitlight is an exclusive in-house polymer that is exceptionally tenacious, 3.3 times lighter than titanium, and 5.8 times lighter than steel. It is highly resistant to scratches, traction and corrosion, making it ideal for demanding physical conditions. The watch’s thermal stability prevents it from getting too hot or too cold. The original Endurance Pro watch is inspired by the Breitling Sprint, a watch that emerged in the 1970s and was characterized by a pulsometer scale.

The rotating bezel is engraved with the cardinal points, while the hour and minute hands are coated with high-gloss Super-LumiNova®. A small seconds hand is joined by the two chronograph counters, all arranged in the equilateral 10-2-6 configuration typical of quartz chronographs. The counter has a resolution of 1/10th of a second and the case is water-resistant up to 100 meters, ready to venture into the swimming stage of an Ironman.

There will be two versions of this new Breitling: Endurance Pro IRONMAN and Endurance Pro IRONMAN® Finisher. The former has a red dial with a black bezel and a pulsometer scale. It is accompanied by a red rubber strap and a buckle made of Breitlight. The latter is presented in black with gold acts and is intended for athletes who have completed an IRONMAN®event. This version will be available exclusively through IRONMAN®channels, and its caseback features a prominent “IRONMAN® Finisher Series” engraving.

Inside the case is the caliber 82, a quartz movement with a thermal compensation system that maintains a high accuracy rate regardless of environmental conditions. Like all Breitlings, the new Endurance Pro IRONMAN® chronographs come with the COSC chronometer certification.
