Seizing upon timeliness and tradition, Accutron is bringing back their iconic ‘Football Watches.’ Design-centric and fashion forward, these memorable timepieces were originally created in the 1960’s capitalizing on the era’s artistic innovations, and were given unique names for their distinct asymmetrical case design. Now, they’re coming back with a few modern tweaks, but all of the nostalgic style.

The “565” watch, also known as the “Football Cross Hatch” was launched in 1966 to immediate fanfare. The watch incorporates the Archimedean spiral and Time Series spirals into the crosshatch detail on the current bezel for a case design that is truly unmatched. These same designs were used by architects and designers in the 1960’s and give that time period in America a unique unparalleled aesthetic. This aesthetic is being updated and reimagined with a new unique cross-hatching detail added to the already distinctive asymmetrical design and crown placement at 4 o’clock. Its silver-tone stainless steel 34 mm case features a 3-hand silver white dial, bold hour makers, and an outer minutes ring. The watch is finished off with a black croco-embossed leather strap.

Originally released the same year, the “203 Football Gold Relief” watch features the same dial as the alpha. When it was released, its bold golden colors and unique design made it immediately valued by customers and later by collectors who affectionately coined it “The Football Watch” and sought it out for its unique shape reminiscent of football. Back in a big way, the legacy watch design has been upgraded with a 34mm gold-and-silver-tone stainless steel case with a 3-hand champagne dial. The watch also has Arabic numerals, and fine-line stick markers on the outer ring. The watch is complemented with a brown croco-embossed leather strap with double-press closure.

Both watches are water resistant to 30M, include an updated Swiss-made 26-jewel movement, and are individually numbered and limited to 600 pieces.

Accutron has seized a great opportunity bringing these iconic watches back to the market. These are the perfect watches for football season, and watches that are sure to inspire conversation.
