For 75 years, Ahmed Seddiqi has been at the heart of Middle Eastern watch culture – not just a retailer, but a tastemaker, an educator and a champion of independent watchmaking. The family business has done more than most to shape the Middle East’s cultural relationship with watches, and with its 75th anniversary year and Dubai Watch Week unfurling this month, expect a wave of instantly covetable, collectible limited editions, courtesy of the ultimate power collab between the family and watchmaking’s finest.

To mark this milestone, the Seddiqi family worked closely with myriad brands to deliever a series of limited editions that celebrate the ethos of independence, long-standing partnerships between East and West, and a spirit of unique creativity that flourishes when connections and cultures collaborate.

As Mohamed Abdulmagied Seddiqi, CEO of Ahmed Seddiqi, says: “As we celebrate Ahmed Seddiqi’s 75th anniversary, we remain committed to consistently expanding our offering, while we nurture our legacy. Each timepiece created to celebrate this milestone has a story, and it’s our responsibility to share that story for generations to come.”

A series of hotly anticipated Seddiqi 75th limited-edition watches are being revealed and released to coincide with the 7th edition of Dubai Watch Week. Here’s a look at four of these – collaborations with some of the most admired names in contemporary independent watchmaking: MB&F, H. Moser & Cie., Ressence, and HYT.

MB&F × Ahmed Seddiqi: Two machines, one friendship

Of all Seddiqi’s long-standing partnerships, few are as personal as that with Maximilian Büsser & Friends. MB&F’s founder describes the Seddiqi family as “very close friends,” noting that over nearly three decades they have shared not just business success but genuine mutual loyalty and care.

“I have been privileged over the last 27 years of their 75-year history, to have counted the Seddiqi family as very close friends,” he exclusively tells Revolution. They welcomed me when I was at my most vulnerable, they many times helped me when I was down, and were there to celebrate our greatest achievements together. It is therefore my privilege and honour to celebrate this milestone of Ahmed Seddiqi, with two incredibly rare and special MB&F pieces.”

Those two pieces – the LM Perpetual EVO 75th Anniversary Seddiqi Limited Edition and the LM Perpetual Baguette Diamonds 75th Anniversary Edition – are powered by Stephen McDonnell’s revolutionary perpetual-calendar calibre, a movement that remains one of the most innovative in modern watchmaking. Two expressions of the same mechanical heart, representing the twin facets of MB&F’s DNA – technical ingenuity and emotional artistry.

The LM Perpetual EVO 75th Anniversary Seddiqi Limited Edition, limited to seven pieces, channels a more contemporary, kinetic energy. Its grade-5 titanium case, engraved with the 75th Anniversary mark, frames anthracite bridges punctuated by “Yas Marina blue” sub-dials – a nod to the signature hue that first appeared on the LM101 MB&F × H. Moser created for Seddiqi in 2020. Built for an active lifestyle, it boasts 80 metres of water resistance and impressive shock absorption through the brand’s proprietary FlexRing system.

Meanwhile the LM Perpetual Baguette Diamonds 75th Anniversary Seddiqi Limited Edition limited to just five pieces, represents MB&F’s first venture into gem-setting within the Legacy Machine line – a stainless-steel case surrounded by 48 baguette-cut diamonds totalling 1.5 carats. Here, the same blue tone migrates to the dial plate itself, offset by black sub-dials for a more formal, jewelled interpretation of the perpetual calendar.

Büsser sees the symbolism clearly: “An edition of 7 and another of 5. 7 & 5 = 75! Stephen McDonnell’s Perpetual calendar movement was a tectonic shift in watchmaking ten years ago when we launched it. We only craft a few dozen movements a year – all presold. Ground breaking and rare, it seemed the perfect base to celebrate such an important anniversary.” We couldn’t agree more, Max!

H. Moser & Cie.: Sand-fumé sophistication

If MB&F is about kinetics and movement, then H. Moser & Cie. is what happens when restraint meets colour. The Heritage Retrograde Seconds 75th Anniversary Edition, limited to just 20 pieces, is classic Moser: deceptively simple yet mechanically rich.

Housed in a 42 mm steel case with a retrograde seconds display, the watch’s textured sand fumé dial is a vivid yellow affair– a chromatic nod to the desert landscapes of Dubai, perhaps? Beneath lies the HMC 250 automatic calibre, developed with Agenhor SA and offering a three-day power reserve. Its anthracite bridges and partially skeletonised rotor are visible through the sapphire back, showcasing the movement’s sculptural architecture.

For Mohammed Abdulmagied Seddiqi, CEO of Ahmed Seddiqi, the piece is a testament to shared values: “This collaboration with H. Moser & Cie. marks not only a milestone in our journey but also a celebration of the independent craftsmanship that sets our industry apart.”

Bertrand Meylan, Co-owner of H. Moser & Cie., adds: “The Seddiqi family has been instrumental in shaping watch culture in the Middle East and beyond. For us at H. Moser & Cie., it is both a privilege and a joy to celebrate their 75th anniversary with a creation that reflects our shared values: independence, excellence, and a deep respect for watchmaking tradition.”

Ressence Type 9 S75 × Seddiqi: Time written in sand

Among all the collaborations, none captures the spirit of Dubai’s natural environment as literally as the Ressence Type 9 S75, which was one of the first anniversary limited-editions officially revealed earlier this year. The Belgian independent, founded by industrial designer Benoît Mintiens, has long pushed the boundaries of how time is displayed – rotating discs rather than hands, oil-filled dials instead of crystals. For Seddiqi’s anniversary, Ressence took that philosophy and quite literally anchored it in the Emirates’ landscape.

Limited to just 20 pieces, the Type 9 S75 features a dial featuring natural sand from each of the seven Emirates, collected by hand and set within a titanium plate using Ressence’s signature convex orbital display. Mohammed Abdulmagied Seddiqi, CEO of Ahmed Seddiqi, and Ressence founder Benoît Mintiens went into the desert together to collect sand from all seven Emirates of the U.A.E.

“Central to this project is the idea of measuring time through the motion of sand grains,” said Mintiens. “This watch stands at the crossroads between the ancient hourglass, the organic dome of the dial echoing the texture of dunes, and the regional origin of the piece, symbolised by a blend of sand gathered from all seven Emirates.” It’s an exquisite fusion of concept and craft: a watch that feels both deeply local and universally symbolic – a reminder that time, like sand, is ever-moving and impossible to hold.

HYT × Seddiqi: Three colours of legacy

HYT’s S1 Seddiqi 75th Anniversary Bespoke Edition series comprises three unique pieces – Titanium Green, Titanium Blue, and Titanium Sand – each a one-of-one celebration of hydromechanical watchmaking and regional heritage.

The choice of these three distinctive colours tells the authentic story of Ahmed Seddiqi’s journey and their deep connection to Dubai’s transformation,. Each shade embodies a chapter in Seddiqi’s story: Sand for heritage and roots; Green for growth and prosperity; Blue for vision and the future.

Every S1 is powered by HYT’s 501-CM calibre – a 352-component mechanical marvel driving fluidic retrograde hours through microscopic glass capillaries. Two unmixable liquids mark the passage of time as the boundary between them, the meniscus, flows forward before snapping back at the hour.

Limited editions, endless stories

That idea of storytelling through mechanics weaves all the independents Seddiqi has championed over the years, from establishing the most recognised brands and creating a watch industry almost from the ground up, to bringing the beautiful nuance of true appreciation and culture via stories of independent watchmakers. Each expresses timetelling quite differently, yet all have found their place – and their audience – in the heart of the Middle East. As Büsser himself tells Revolution, “Loving parents create amazing kids.” Seventy-five years on, the children of Seddiqi – its partnerships, its brands, and its collectors – continue to grow and inspire.
