Awesome Threesome: Introducing the HYT H1 Colorblock

Earlier in September of 2016, while HYT’s new man at the helm, Mr. Gregory Dourde was in Singapore, kicking off his tour of Asia, he spoke to press and friends — outlining the incredible strides the brand has made in the short time since it has existed.

And now buoyed by the CHF23 million in capital that the brand has managed to raise to carry forward its ambitions for years to come — HYT has no doubt grown bolder (odd thing to say, when you consider the extreme timepieces these guys already produce).

Just before Mr. Dourde came to town, the brand had announced their new bespoke service, signaling that the company has become so brave in the knowhow involved in creating HYT watches that they are now able to allow customers in on the action to create truly unique timepieces.

Next Mr. Dourde announced that HYT was starting a program where their entire warranty period is being given a steroid shot to a 5-year period. On top of that, he’s also initiated what he’s calling the brand’s Squad Team, who will travel the globe to HYT’s various points of sale to provide HYT collectors with the upfront servicing that they deserve.

There was more — in fact, Mr. Dourde shared the entire road map laid out for the brand from 2018 all the way to 2023. But it’s not time yet to tell you that story. It is, however, time to celebrate a watch brand, three years in the making, who have achieved phenomenal success and with an incredible horological technology, the likes of which the world absolutely has never seen before

How is HYT intending to celebrate its countless accolades? By, of course, creating more timepieces — it’s what they do best after all. And so we introduce you to the HYT H1 Colorblock.

It’s not exactly a single watch then, because there are three different versions of the watch that are being unveiled today. One, loud and proud in yellow; one cool and subtle in blue and the last one just hot and spicy in red.

On the occasion of its third year anniversary, the HYT H1 Colorblock is highly apt because it is a throwback to the first fluid mechanic watch they gave the world with the H1 in 2012. But we see that HYT has kept its eyes on the future nonetheless by opting to use the black liquid in the watches’ capillaries that we got to see put into HYT watches quite recently.

Fret not reading the watch in the dark, because the HYT H1 Colorblock’s capillary is partially coated with SuperLumiNova such that when it glows in the dark, you would be able to deduce the time by reading off the portion of the capillary that is not filled with the black liquid, which otherwise blocks out the luminescent material.

Lastly, the colorful straps on the watches also represent a grand point of celebration being produced in a what HYT is calling their new ultra-resistant fabric.

The H1 Colorblock will be produced in a limited run of 10 pieces per version, which will be retailed through HYT’s closest retailing partners.
