Phillips Watches End 2017 Fall Auctions with Total Sales of 65.5 Mil
And this is exactly what has gone down at today’s 167 lot sale at the Mandarin Oriental, in Hong Kong. Led by the newly appointed Head of Phillips Watches in Asia, Thomas Perazzi the auction sold off 93% of amassed timepieces totaling US$14,039,600.
Which then brings the season’s total sales for Phillips Watches to a grand astronomical US$65,539,592; the New York sale having brought in $28,875,750 and $22,624,242 in Geneva.
Next, lot 908, a Patek Philippe two-crown world time ref. 2523 that sold for US$2,856,630, became an auction record for a wristwatch sold in Asia. It was, also, the only piece to have broken the million-dollar mark at today’s sale, going for a hair above the initial upper estimate of US$2,500,000
