Rado: Master of Materials
Eternal beauty has always been linked to the idea of lasting value – something that stays meaningful and untouched as time goes by. In the early days, this idea focused more on longevity than on the nuances of aesthetics. It was less about defining what beauty looked like, and more about ensuring that it could remain unchanged for as long as possible. When this philosophy met the world of Rado, it opened the door to major innovation. The desire to protect beauty over time led to new materials and technologies designed to keep a design true to its original vision, even decades later. With time, the understanding of eternal beauty expanded. It came to include not only technical mastery but also the creative vision of exceptional designers whose bold, original ideas deserved a long life of their own. Form and function became a powerful pair – both essential, both celebrated – perfectly reflecting one of the guiding beliefs of Rado’s founders: “If we can imagine it, we can make it. And if we can make it, we will.”
In 1986, this vision led Rado to introduce high-tech ceramic to watchmaking – a pioneering material whose exceptional durability and smooth, tactile finish soon became a signature of the brand. The Rado Integral embodies this achievement and stands as a true witness to time, proving that some beauty is natural and eternal.
Linear Time Has No Hold On the Integral
That innovative decision in 1986 didn’t just create a legend – it set a new standard for the whole watch industry. The Integral’s smooth, sophisticated silhouette captivated one generation, then the next, and its design continues to inspire today, as truly beautiful creations always do.
There is something truly captivating about a timepiece whose lines and surfaces feel effortlessly harmonious – a purity of form that speaks directly to the senses. When such design is paired with materials engineered to preserve their beauty almost forever, the result naturally garners attention and respect. It becomes more than an object; it becomes a statement. A lasting expression of creativity, precision, and vision. Watches like this don’t just stand out – they earn admiration that endures.
Forty years have passed since the first Integral was launched. The world has undergone enormous changes, in almost every area, but the Integral has not sprung a wrinkle. The watch is as stunning, sophisticated and elegant as it ever was. Rado’s high-tech ceramic experts have continued their research, invented and often patented many new processes, but the miracle still begins with fine ceramic powder, special carrier agents, moulds of extreme precision, and fascinating production stages like sintering, baking and diamond-tool finishing, before stunning watch cases emerge, or elements of a wonderfully comfortable, sensorial, almost heavenly bracelet.
Rado designers and materials research engineers worked very closely together to make sure that every subtle, iconic element from the 1986 Integral was retained, and revisited only in terms of new production technics or materials, for their 2026 anniversary model. The timeless spirit and character were untouched. The new Integral is as naturally beautiful, timelessly brilliant as its personality dictates.
Still Perfect. Since Day One.
