New Chapters: Collecting a Legacy in Seddiqi’s 75-Year Story
As Ahmed Seddiqi celebrates its 75th anniversary, the region’s leading curator of watch culture continues to mark this milestone with a series of limited-edition collaborations that reflect heritage and innovation. Each instantly covetable timepiece or collection is a symbolic expression of Seddiqi’s enduring relationships – cultivated over decades of shared craftsmanship, trust, and passion for watchmaking – and the cutting-edge creativity and mechanical mastery of the brands whose friendships have been forged over the years.
Breitling Avenger Automatic 42 Night Mission – Seddiqi 75th Anniversary Edition
Breitling marks its partnership with Ahmed Seddiqi with the Avenger Automatic 42 Night Mission – Seddiqi 75th Anniversary Edition, a symbolic run of 75 pieces that fuses aviation heritage with modern precision. With a black carbon dial, black ceramic case and bezel of ceramic, the timepiece bears the Seddiqi 75th Anniversary logo and highlights the numerals 7 and 5 in contrasting tones – a subtle but resonant nod to the occasion.
At its core beats the Breitling Calibre 17, a COSC-certified movement offering 38 hours of power reserve. Aed Adwan, Managing Director of Breitling Middle East, notes the model is “reflective of the enduring relationship” between the two brands, while Mohammed Abdulmagied Seddiqi calls it a “symbol of shared passion and a celebration of our community’s deep love for horology.” Available with black or sand military leather straps, this collector’s edition is available exclusively at Breitling Dubai Mall Fashion Avenue and The Galleria, Al Maryah Island, Abu Dhabi.
Hublot – Classic Fusion Seddiqi 75th Anniversary Editions
Few partnerships have endured with as much synergy as that between Hublot and Ahmed Seddiqi, dating back to the early 1980s. “We are honored to join Ahmed Seddiqi in celebrating their remarkable 75th anniversary,” says David Tedeschi, Hublot’s Managing Director in Middle East, Africa, India and Latin America.
To celebrate 75 years, the maison unveils two Classic Fusion Titanium Seddiqi Editions – one with diamonds and another in titanium and both presented in a rich burgundy hue inspired by the anniversary logo with a radiant dial marked at 12 o’clock by the commemorative logo. “The design is inspired by our anniversary theme coupled with the use of titanium, which strongly resonates with collectors in the region,” says Mohammed Abdulmagied Seddiqi, CEO of Ahmed Seddiqi. Each model bears Eastern Arabic numerals and a movement of both watches that runs counter-clockwise, which is how Arabic is read. The 42mm Classic Fusion Titanium Seddiqi channels a modern, minimalist spirit, while the 38mm Titanium Diamonds Seddiqi adds a bezel of 36 white diamonds, totalling 1.2 carats. Powered by the HUB1105 self-winding calibre, both watches reflect Hublot’s “Art of Fusion” philosophy – blending tradition, innovation, and regional identity courtesy of this elegant duo.
Bovet – Récital 12 Blood Jasper Seddiqi 75th Anniversary
Bovet celebrates Seddiqi’s diamond jubilee with a stunning release of its Récital 12 – the Blood Jasper Seddiqi 75th Anniversary Edition, limited to just 10 pieces. Its dial is carved from natural Blood Jasper, a beautiful gemstone, often called “dragon blood jasper” or “dragon stone.” and traditionally believed to aid warriors, symbolising courage and protection. It is used to promote vitality and healing for both body and mind and encourages facing challenges with resilience and adaptability.
Encased in Grade 5 titanium and powered by a hand-wound movement with a seven-day power reserve, the timepiece represents both physical beauty and mechanical mastery. Pascal Raffy, owner of Bovet, calls the collaboration “a reflection of shared values of craftsmanship, artistry, and timeless elegance,” while Mohammed Abdulmagied Seddiqi describes it as “a symbol of partnership and excellence that continues to inspire.” The vivid green tones of the stone dial with their distinctive bood-red flecks render each piece utterly individual – a celebration of both time and nature’s unrepeatable design.
West End Watch Co. – The 75th Anniversary Heritage Set
In a fitting tribute to Seddiqi’s earliest partnership, West End Watch Co. revisits its deep historical connection with the family through the 75th Anniversary Heritage Set – a twin presentation comprising a wristwatch and a pocket watch. The wristwatch, inspired by the brand’s mid-century military models, features a red or black sunray dial with a diamond-cut sun motif that plays with light and shadow, echoing the optimism of Seddiqi’s early decades.
The companion pocket watch, with Hindi numerals and pear-shaped hands, evokes the brand’s late-19th-century craftsmanship and its place in Middle Eastern horological heritage. Both are housed in a luxury Swiss-made wooden box, engraved with the Seddiqi 75th logo and a quote from founder Ahmed Qasim Seddiqi, who famously called West End “the mother of all Swiss watch brands.” This set bridges past and present — a tangible reminder of how Seddiqi’s story began.
